Chapter 32 - Its Time For Retribution

Though the video was enough to file a case against Chen Ying, with her lawyers and connections, she could easily manage to escape the prosecution.

Chen Yi could damage her more by manipulating her than direct prosecution.

A long pause of silence followed from the phone. Chen Yi could guess that Chen Ying must be having a hard time to get a hold over her shock. Being kind, Chen Yi let her slowly regain her senses and didn't interrupt her recuperation from that dreadful shock that video afflicted.

"T-That's not me!" Chen Ying shattered voice came out of the phone.

"What? The face in the video clearly belongs to you unless you happen to possess an identical, twin sister who had been hidden from the world's eye until now" Chen Yi said sarcastically in an apathetic tone.

"Chen Yi this video is fake! You are trying to frame me!"

"Let's just leave this decision for the lawyers to make whether the video is fake or not"

The word 'lawyers' crushed all of Chen Ying's arrogance into pieces.

"Chen Yi please don't do something like this to your big sister. I'm begging you. We have spent our childhood together. Remember? How can you bear to see your blood sister rotting in the prison."

Chen Yi laughed. It was amusing how she altered her tone and conduct by an angle of 180 degrees in just a few seconds. She could not believe it that someone related to her by blood could possess such a level of shamelessness.

"The same sister who just threatened to make me regret being born not just a minute ago?" Chen Yi couldn't help her desire to mock Chen Ying and make her recall her own words.

Chen Ying realized that her tricks would not work on this new Chen Yi who seemed like she had changed to an entirely different person ever since they had kicked her out. If it was the previous Chen Ying, she might have fallen for it.

"I would do whatever you want. Just, please don't do it." Her voice succumbed to resignation as she implored quietly.

But inside her heart, she was planning something. Now she realized that it was such a huge mistake on her part not to completely get rid of Chen Yi after kicking her out of their manor two months ago. She should have dealt with her right after she was thrown out.

Chen Ying despised Chen Yi. Her flames of hatred were flared by the jealousy of the exceptions Chen Yi had in her. She was outright gorgeous, talented in every aspect, gifted with loving parents, and adored by their grandparents. After the death of the elder of the Chen family, Chen Ying and her parents completely changed their loving attitude towards her and plotted to kick her out of the family manor and heritage.

Chen Ying decided that this time she would completely destroy that cunt after getting a hold over that video. But unbeknownst to her, Chen Yi had decided to ruin her already. And Chen Yi would always be one step ahead.

"What do I want?" Chen Yi said and her voice sounded like she was thinking."Let me think. How about handing the crate left behind by my mother back to me?"

When Chen Yi was kicked out, she was not even given a chance to collect her belongings and they were greedily claimed by her uncle's family.

Chen Ying was astonished. Why would Chen Yi want that petty wooden box of all the things? She couldn't understand her reasons. Then she remembered that Chen Ying used to be very obsessed with that box after her mother passed away. She used to say that it reminded her of her mother. Maybe it was the reason.

"You wouldn't show that video to anyone if I brought you that crate?"

"Yes"

"What guaranty is there that you wouldn't if I gave you that crate." Chen Ying asked wryly.

Chen Yi laughed. "Dearest cousin, I'm the one who holds all the cards here because I have the video that can ruin you in seconds. So do you think you have the right to ask for a guarantee?"

That bit*h!

Chen Ying could only swallow her spite for now as she couldn't afford for Chen Yi to leak that video. She knew that as long as Chen Yi had that video, it would pose a threat to her. So she agreed to give that box now to stop Chen Yi from leaking it immediately. For later Chen Ying decided to employ some men to get rid of Chen Yi to end the threat permanently.

After all, it was a shabby, worn-out wooden box. So Chen Ying was not interested in it.

"Alright. I'll bring it to you." Chen Ying said in a submissive tone, sneering maliciously inwardly.

Chen Yi sent her a random address other than her apartment.

Chen Ying, at that time, had no idea that by the time she employed those men Chen Yi would already be the wife of the heir of Li co-operation and by then no professional assassinate would be able to touch a single strand of her hair.

Later that night Chen Ying delivered the crate as promised.

Chen Yi sighed as she opened the box Chen Ying sent. It brought her acute nostalgia as it put forth the memories of her deceased mother in her mind. Shaking her head, she got rid of those sweet agonizing memories. She grabbed the flimsy and worn-out wooden box and broke it into two halves.

From within, fell a heavy, metallic key and made a sharp, loud echoing noise once hitting the floor. It was the key to the bank safe deposit where her mother will lay. Along with that, there were some documents for passwords and accounts.

That manor originally belonged to Chen Yi's mother. And it belonged to her rightfully after her mother's death. The legal papers for that manor and her mother's estate held her name on it. Chen Yi didn't care much for wealth. But she wanted the manor back because many of her childhood memories were associated with it. She had spent her happy days in it with her parents and siblings.

And also how she could not tolerate those despicable people enjoying their lives lavishly in something that belonged to her.

Chen Yi picked up the key and smiled. Her eyes had an enchanting spark in them as a new determination solidified within her.

"It's time for retribution."
