Chapter 26 - Were You Planning To Leave Without Paying Me Back Wife?

"What?" Chen Yi asked finding Mr. Li staring at her. Her mouth was already full of food yet she picked up another piece of it with her chopstick and was on her way to stuff it into her mouth. Although it seemed like there was no place for more in her tiny mouth yet somehow she was capable of making that much space.

Li Luxian continued gaping at her, pausing his own meal.

"Chen Yi I just wanted to tell you that no one is going to steal away your food."

"Of course no one would! I won't let them!" Chen Yi protectively secured her plate.

Li Luxian sighed and went back to elegantly cutting his steak and gracefully placing a small bite in his mouth. After having a decent amount of lunch, he simply placed the fork and knife on the table following all the noble manners he had been taught since young. Being done, he stared at his wife who had no intention of stopping before completely emptying the plates.

Why would she stop? It was not like every day when she got the opportunity to eat such sumptuous lunch in such a luxurious restaurant and that was all for free too!

All the bills would be paid from Li Luxian's wallet.

Her cheeks were full of food as she quickly chewed the food and swallowed it down. And Li Luxian had to admit she looked quite cute. The up and down movements of her cherry red lips that presented a bright contrast to her white skin, seemed so tempting that Li Luxian wanted to kiss her right then.

"What are you staring at? Never seen a lady eating before."

"To tell the truth. I've never seen a lady eating before." He quietly added. "Like a pig."

The woman his family had forced him to date never ate like that. They would only eat salad or drink water. They were overly concerned about the image they portrayed outside and overly obsessed with their figure. That prevented them from being themselves as they struggled to present graceful and refined manners.

Chen Yi glared at him. "I'm not eating like a pig. How dare you say that!" Her mouth was full of stuff.

Li Luxian coughed. "Yes, you are definitely eating like an ideal lady" Sarcasm manifested in his tune.

"I'm not one of those women who would starve themselves to retain a perfect figure to climb into men's bed. So just get used to it."

"So you prefer food over beauty?"

"That's the best policy, I tell you." She laughed.

Li Luxian stopped for a while. With little displeasure in his expressions, he asked: "If you had have to choose between food and me, who would you choose?"

Chen Yi:"..." She stared at him. Was he really asking that?

"Answer me."

She sighed. After giving it a thought, she said with a smile, "Of course I would choose Mr. Li."

Li Luxian was almost happy. Almost.

"So that Mr. Li can continue taking me to good restaurants and I can continue eating lots of delicious food!"

So in the end, it would still be for food. Li Luxian sighed, dejected. He should have added an additional term in the contract that he should be given priority over food.

"You shouldn't be getting too much emotionally attached to food." Li Luxian leaned back into his chair and patiently waited for his future wife to finish. "I'm better than food."

Chen Yi challenged. "How?"

"Eating too much food might get you diabetes and health issues." He leaned closer and lowered his voice. A playful smile was hanging on his lips. "But eating me won't have any such drawbacks."

Chen Li's almost spat everything in her mouth.

This guy was dangerous. Dangerous and shameless.

She was mortified and blushed involuntarily. She wanted to smack him with her purse but restrained herself considering they were still in the restaurant and assaulting the great Li Luxian in open public like would be blasphemous.

As they ate together, talked and familiarized with each other, they came to like each other personalities. Between conversations, Li Luxian would throw flirty remarks at her that she would respond by topping it with a better comment or by simply blushing at it when she couldn't come with a smart answer.

"Thank you, Mr. Li, for dinner." Chen Yi said sincerely as she got out of the car that was parked at the back of the building and stood silently near it. She had to admit that she had quite a fun time with Mr. Li. It had been long since last she had enjoyed her time this much. She was tightly grasping her purse in her hands as she smiled at him gently and proceeded to leave to her apartment without waiting for Li Luxian response.

Li Luxian was also standing near her by the car looking refined and regal like a prince from some ancient era. Suddenly, he closed the distance between them, placing his hand at her small back he pulled her towards him. She gently placed her hands on his chest. Under her hands, she could feel his toned muscles and natural heat under the thin cloth of his shirt.

Chen Yi heart thumped loudly as felt his intoxicating scent wafting to her nostrils and making her feel somewhat dizzy as the distance between them reduced to just centimeters. She could feel the heat emanating from his body warming her.

Li Luxian leaned in and his soft lips almost touched her sensitive earlobes.. He whispered seductively. "Were you planning to leave without paying me back wife?"
