Chapter 164 - Chen Ying Not Gonna Help You Out Of This Situation

"You did better than expectations." After the big event, Su Xiuying arranged a meeting with Chen Yi to listen to directions.

"But Yi Jie1, many reporters are approaching me. There's a persistent crowd before my home. I don't know how to react." Su Xiuying had never received this much attention before. She was somewhat terrified.

Chen Yi rested her chin over her wrist, her eyes revealing a charming smile. "Just don't answer to any of them. Otherwise, you will be painted as a shameless artiste utilizing people's sympathy to climb her career."

"I understand. From now onwards, I would stay indoors." Su Xiuying nodded earnestly before asking with a frown. "But Yi Jie, why did you not let me reveal Chen Ying name?" Things went way better than Su Xiuying expected. She knew it was all due to Chen Yi meticulous preparation. From her attire, manner to her speech, everything was predecided by none other than Chen Yi. 

And the way it all went down so perfectly, Su Xiuying felt an emotion akin to worship for Chen Yi.

"You are still young. You don't know how things work." Chen Yi sighed before leaning back. "If we had involved Chen Ying, the fire couldn't have gone this big. Besides at that time, Fu Entertainment would have jumped into Qin Chanpu defence, blamed you and everything would have backfired." Besides Chen Ying had Jiang Li to hold her back. Su Xiuying didn't know this but Chen Yi did.

"Yi Jie means to say Fu Entertainment would abandon Qin Chanpu?" 

"I bet their PR people are ransacking their brains to think of the best statement that would pin all the blame on him."

And this was exactly what was happening.

Fu Jianguo had the same mind but when Chen Ying approached him to be Qin Chanpu advocate, he lost his cool. "Who is right or who is wrong doesn't matter. I understand you believe Su Xiuying is the one stirring trouble here but who would believe so when Xu Jiayi is the one leading this case? My grandfather is already at my throat, how am I supposed to afford supporting Qin Chanpu?!" Fu Jianguo was duly stressed. So many things were happening lately. First, his company wasn't doing well. Who knew whom he had provoked. The influx of investments had dwindled, the number of artistes cast in big roles had gone down.

Now this disaster befell. 

"Bother Jianguo, I'm sorry. I ignored how difficult it had been for you." Chen Ying had brought up this matter as politely as she could. Being tactful and light in her wording. But Fu Jianguo erupted at the slightest mention of cutting some slack to Qin Chanpu. She realized there was no way to make him go back on his words.

There might have been some hope in the past when their relationship was fresh and pristine. At that time, Fu Jianguo would do anything for her. But men will lose interest with time.

And recently, her relationship with Fu Jianguo was not on the same I-will-die-for-you level. The cracks that appeared first with her mother's loss of face had widened to an extent that it appeared impossible to mend. 

Chen Ying just had planned out a meticulous act of revenge from Chen Yi with Qin Chanpu. She was unwilling to let all of her efforts go down the drain. 

She brought out another point to influence Fu Jianguo.

"But the big-name Su Xiuying mentioned... I don't what she got against me but recently there had been speculations on social sites, you know I auditioned for those series that helped her make a breakthrough. It's alright if it's me, but they are also dragging Brother Jianguo name into this. I can't bear to see this."

Fu Jianguo paused. Then an expression tinted with the guilt he explained. "I'm sorry, my tone was a bit harsh right now. You have been thinking for me." He sighed. "It's just the pressure's been too much. With Grandfather and falling stocks. Alright, let me see how much I can handle." 

Chen Ying couldn't save Qin Chanpu but she managed to make Fu Jianguo help her out. When faced with Qin Chanpu, that was not what she told. "I have already talked with Fu Jianguo, the company won't abandon you."

Relief spawned upon Qin Chanpu face. "If that's how it is then at least I will have something to fall back on to." 

Chen Ying timely reminded. "About Chen Yi... You said you had some people in your circle who could... You know." Qin Chanpu knew the dirty secrets of so many people. Naturally, he had some means and links. There were many such people in the upper circles who liked to enjoy fresh girls. From cornering the girl and introducing them to such high profile people, Qin Chanpu acted as a mediator. 

He has his own group of people who worked under him. 

This was a reason he could so fearlessly go down humiliating Su Xiuying. He did not fear repercussions. Since he was an old player in this game.

All they needed to do was to trick Chen Yi into a hotel room. Nothing even needed to happen. Once the word got out and Chen Yi reputation was ruined as someone who prostituted herself, they would have leverage upon her. 

QIn Chanpu eyes sharpened at once. Who knew what he thought, but he declined. "There are many eyes on me as of right now. We can't proceed with the plan."

Just then the room slammed open and Zhao Hua walked in. "Brother Qin, there is something I need to tell you." Zhao Hua found Chen Ying in his company. She hesitated for a bit before looking in Qin Chanpu direction. Once Qin Chanpu gave a nod, she went on saying. "I think regarding this matter of Su Xiuying coming out, Chen Yi is the one playing the cards all this time."
