Chapter 161 - Chen Yi Is Not Helping You, She Is Helping Herself.

Chen Yi eyes drifted downwards. "The address seems to be correct." She wasn't surprised to find the address leading to a decrepit place in the abandoned part of the city. When she had been at her lowest point, she didn't even have the luxury to be in such a place.

Shoving back the piece of paper into her purse, she lightly knocked on the door.

After some time, the sound of shuffling emerged from inside and a beautiful girl opened the door. Puzzlement settled over her face. "You... What are you doing here?"

"Can I come in?"

The girl looked embarrassed. "Yes sure. But I'm afraid my place is not too much to see." Su Xiuying invited her inside. Hurridly shuffling the clothes inside the cupboard, she cleared the couch and made a suitable spot for Chen Yi.

However, Chen Yi shook her head and inquired where Su Xiuying mother was. Su Xiuying was surprised but answered with her head down directing Chen Yi to the only bedroom. Chen Yi entered coming upon a sick, bedridden woman. 

Su Xiuying followed her, curious. Why would she ask for her mother? But she only found Chen Yi introducing herself as Su Xiuying colleague, asking about her mother's health and exchanging casual words of greetings before exiting. 

"Would you-Would you like something?" Su Xiuying asked as Chen Yi sat down, timid but the look of caution had receded from within her eyes.

There was merely warn awe. 

There wasn't even a hint of scorn or discomfort on Chen Yi face. With the state of Su Xiuying home, those from the Entertainment circle would find it disdainful. But Chen Yi even went ahead to greet her mother.

It was as if such things didn't enter her eyes, Su Xiuying insecurities were for no reason. 

For the young Su Xiuying who had yet to see much of the world, this was refreshing.

After asking around the other day at the company, Su Xiuying had long ago learned Chen Yi name. She even sympathized with her and thought that Chen Yi situation was somewhat similar to her. 

As that subconscious inclination deepened, she had a feeling that Chen Yi could be trusted. 

"No, thanks, I have flu. Come sit with me. I am here because I want to discuss something important with you." When Su Xiuying obliged Chen Yi recalled those carefully thought over words. "Tomorrow is the last hearing. If you do not even appear then your file would be dismissed."

Su Xiuying tensed at once. Eyes wide, she stared at Chen Yi in alarm. "W-What are you talking about?"

"I know everything about Qin Chanpu and your matter." Chen Yi paused for a second. When Su Xiuying panic didn't subside, she assured. "Do not worry. No one knows besides me and no one will." 

A look of shame flashed across Su Xiuying face and she stumbled for words. "I..."

At this, Chen Yi only said one sentence. "What happened wasn't your fault at all."

Su Xiuying looked up in astonishment. This was the first time she heard this. After she had filed the report, the only things she got to hear were 'you are shameless, 'you are the one who seduced him', 'how could you not have guessed his intentions?'

"I do not intend to attend the hearing." Su Xiuying told truthfully. She didn't question Chen Yi intentions for bringing this up. She believed they were not bad. She even explained. "At that time, I was stupid. In a fit of anger, I went ahead and filed a report. Soon, I realized that with me alone, I can not afford to pursue this matter."

A frown line delved between her brows, Chen Yi accurately guessed. "Did they threaten you?"

Su Xiuying pursed her lips and didn't say anything. She merely gave a light nod. 

Chen Yi could understand her situation. "You know, you are underage. There are many agencies that would offer you help on that account alone. Once they know your name, Qin Chanpu wouldn't dare touch you. If anything happened to you, he would not be able to evade suspicion."

Su Xiuying lips broke into a defeated smile. "With what our career is, you should know this, it would mean death in my career. At that time, I had filed the complaint with an anonymous identity because I didn't want to reveal my name."

Chen Yi smiled sarcastically but her eyes remained warm and sympathizing. "And you think by staying silent you can save your career?"

Su Xiuying was stumped for words.

"The only reason they haven't taken action against you is that you still hold the bargaining chip. Once the case is settled and they know that you have nothing to retaliate with, they wouldn't waste a second and get rid of you."

Su Xiuying looked down, her hands trembling. It wasn't that he hadn't thought this before. This was what Shen Yue also told her. She just hoped...

There were too many emotions. Su Xiuying who had resigned to faith till now couldn't accept to retaliate head on all of sudden. And the situation was urgent. And she understood everything. It was now or never. But her heart was unsettled. She finally asked. "Why would you help me?"

"Qin Chanpu is also my Manger. You should be able to gue3ss why I want nothing good for him. I've my motives. I'm not helping you, I'm helping myself." Chen Yi sincerity tumbled down last of Su Xiuying reservation. If she had spewed any bullshit like she pitied her, Su Xiuying might not have bought it and refused. 

"Alright," Su Xiuying acquiesced. For once, the timidness dispersed and her eyes focused. "But you need to first explain it to me, how you would ensure my security?"

Chen Yi smiled before earnestly explaining her plan to her.
