Chapter 132 - Let The Time Decide.

"Ying'er..." Fu Jianguo could still not understand what happened. He was shocked to find his mother so furious, her tone had been so harsh, her words stinging. Madam Xu had always been a gentle, mild-tempered lady, how could something flip her off this bad?

How could she drag Chen Ying out of the Manor like this?

Disrepect, blatant disrespect without any reservation. Wihout any regard for his status as their eldest son. Without any care that so many servants are looking.

No matter what Fu Jianguo said, what he screamed out — all of that fell on deaf ears.

If a word got out and the people in the company heard that how his fiancee was treated... then... 

Sometimes Fu Jianguo would think about his Mother's dislike towards Chen Ying. And his thoughts would wander to his irredeemable heritage, the blood flowing through his veins that were not of Fu family.

And he would shudder at the thought of his grandfather, the iron-fisted elder with inflexible orthodox ideology, ever finding out about this.

Fu Jianguo knew he would be disowned in the blink of an eye.

"Mother is not like this... not usually. She did not even tell us what was wrong let alone give us a chance at an explanation... she must be really angry." Fu Jianguo could not find it in himself to hate his Mother. "How about were call Yang Mi later on? You know, to have an idea on what exactly went wrong. Things can't go on like this. You are my fiancee, the one I choose. You will be a part of the family someday. Mother will have to accept you."

"Brother Fu, please don't pressurize mother. Maybe I wasn't putting in enough effort. She was just—no I, am certain she will come around one day."

Chen Ying and Fu Jianguo's feelings were not mutual in this matter. 

Fu Jianguo was frustrated at the lack of 'explanation' from his mother. 

Chen Ying was relieved at the minimum. 

She would not want Fu Jianguo to learn the truth. The truth Chen Ying now knew that Madam Xu had discovered. 

Nothing could explain her anger another way.

After lunch, Chen Ying did not go back to her apartment. She showed up at the Fu entertainment, sending out someone to ask for Qin Chanpu. 

When Qin Chanpu appeared, he took no time to find out Chen Ying was in a foul mood.

"I thought you had everything under your control. Turns out, a newbie can whirl you around... I feel like I am wasting the resources like Lawyer Jian." Chen Ying's eyes were cold, she did not have to explain who she was referring to. The hint was enough.

"Ms Chen, calm down, please..." Qin Chanpu was sweating, acutely aware of the importance of Lawyer Jian for his survival. "I admit my fault. The situation really developed the way I hadn't expected. I assumed your cousin didn't have any links. But she had prior knowledge on precise opportunities, she must have links... I'm really looking into solving—"

"You know why I specifically chose you? I know you have a way around such novices. Then what is so difficult about Chen Yi? Why are you unable to get her to submit? You already have my assurance that if anything bad happens, I will cover you up. Did I not help you clear your name on Su Xiuying's case?"

Qin Chanpu fell into silence. "Ms. Chen, what exactly you want me to do?"

"Get her to do something bad, something scandalous! Something she can't show her face in public for. I don't care what means you use." Something Chen Ying would be able to use to blackmail Chen Yi, to make up for the secrets Chen Yi had on Chen Ying.

Chen Ying's eye flashed with a malevolent gleam. 

To produce something on a level equal to that video, this had been Chen Ying's objective all along. 

"If I can use any means...it's not very difficult." Qin Chanpu's gave it a thought. Traces of malevolence lingered at the corners of his mouth. "But if Ms. Chen is distraught because of this audition, I assure you, you are wasting your energy. I prepared another girl, she is most likely, no—most certainly she is the one to win the place. Director Song has this habit of preferring pretty faces. And Zhao Hua has the best face under me. There is no place for doubt. She would be the one chosen for the audition."

Chen Ying looked unconvinced.

  "I'm not going to take a chance anyway."

"Oh, looks like someone is finally here." Zhao Hua's assistant said, contempt colouring her tone. Garnering Zhao Hua's attention, she whispered something to her.

Zhao Hua's eyes flashed with dark intent, she gave a polite bow, excusing herself from the group of admirers.

Chen Yi was minding her own business when she heard a familiar voice.

"Sister Yi, you didn't tell me that you would also be auditioning."

Chen Yi looked up from her phone, saw the person; imperceptible perturbation congealed in her eyes. 

'What was Zhao Hua doing here? She was here for...audition too? Was she sent by Qin Chanpu?' 

Chen Yi responded with a heavy tone. "But you were informed anyway."

It was most likely Qin Chanpu had already found out about her audition. Things were going to be a lot more difficult. Now that he had decided to use Zhao Hua against her...

Chen Yi intended to brush them off, but her next step could not proceed. Another person had appeared, blocking her path.

"Now, Ms. Chen, that is no way to treat your senior. Manager Qin had wanted you back at the company for a very important task. You did not even pick up his phone and instead choose to audition for a role the company had prepared another candidate for. Your actions are not really in the best interest of the company." Xuan Wen admonished Chen Yi in front of everyone.

He did not behave like an assistant. Instead, he wore the expressions of a superior, dominance lacing his eyes.

To be admonished by a Manager was one thing, to be publicly admonished by a mere assistant was an entire another level.

The gesture was so dramatic that it urged the crowd of girls to a round of gossiping, erratically guessing at the identity of Chen Yi. Their eyes were riveted on them with an expectation of an engrossing catfight to unfold.

Chen Yi was unmoved, not a wrinkle of awkwardness appeared in her countenance.

"I don't recall ever signing a contract where it was a mandatory requirement to pick up the call from my Manager." She spared the man a mere fleeting glance, her cold face treated him as if air. "And even if I did, I don't think it's an assistant job to see through that I follow such rules."

Chen Yi's civil manner doused the crowd's expectations to witness a drama. 

This woman's tone had been polite, her manner graceful yet her words did not spare Xuan Wen. 

She had a firm dominance over her bearing. She was not going to swivel out of control and scream.

"Sister Yi, don't be angry now." When Xuen Wen had become speechless, Zhao Hua spoke. Arrogance emerged as her eyes narrowed. "Hear me out. I will do you a favour on the basis we are from the same Manager. Don't waste time, gather your things, and leave. The result of this audition is pretty much decided." 

"Why don't we just wait and let the time decide?" 

Chen Yi confident words surprised everyone.
