Chapter 112 - Important Clue

Zhang Yufang could not have expected to be dragged into something like this. He was having a 'much deserved' sleep after a night of torture and dog food. Why was his master so cruel to call him at this point?

"After Mrs. Li got back to the car, she demanded to take the car to the Bakery. Because it was late, no bakery was open. However, Mrs. Li wouldn't leave the place no matter what," Recollecting the memories, Zhang Yufang shuddered. For once, he did not sulk at his status single; in fact, he was grateful for being spared of the tortures his Master had undergone. "In the end, Mr. Li had to contact the shop's owner to have them open it on a special request. After plunderi- coughs, I mean taking what Mrs. Li wanted, everything was forced into the car, there was no space left... Mr. Li could only squeeze in a small corner." 

The narration was censored out of all the R-rated details that were, by no means, a few in number.

Zhang Yufang was not tortured for no reason.

"Continue," Li Luxian had gone back to reading the paper, and casually said, "There is no need to fear."

Having received the affirmation from his Boss, Zhang Yufang continued with a stoic face without fear. 

"After that, Mrs. Li suddenly exclaimed she was feeling sick. When we pulled the car at a corner of the road, Mrs. Li sprung the door open and ran our laughing cheerfully and challenging us to find us. It was well past twelve, totally dark when Mrs. Li ran into the woods and disappeared." Zhang Yufang paused for a second, coughed drily. His eyebags made much sense now. In the end, with a slight waver of his tone, he said. "It took us two hours to find Mrs. Li trying to climb up a random tree." 

When Zhang Yufang was done, Chen Yi jaw hung low; her mouth acquired an exquisite O shape. She was aware that she could be extreme when drunk but...such extremity?

A few minutes passed as Chen Yi attempted to come in terms with Zhang Yufang's words. "Y-You should not have let me drink anything funny in the first place." Chen Yi sheepishly tried to defend herself with the only meek excuse she could find.

At this, Li Luxiam raised a beautiful, arched eyebrow at her.

Like an overprotective mother hen coming to her baby chick rescue, Zhang Yufang was quick to jump to his Boss defense. "Mr. Li had left Mrs. Li side for a short moment to bid farewell to the event's organizer. Mrs. Li had tried the beverage during that interval." 

Zhang Yufang had been assigned to Chen Yi security. Naturally, he was present at the ball all the time, invisible to the eye but at a safe distance to intercede if anything bad happened to Boss' wife.

Having her already poor excuse negated so effortlessly, Chen Yi could only zip her mouth in speechlessness.

With the wave of his hand, Li Luxian had Zhang Yufang leave. 

"Dear wife, do you still insist on blaming me?" Finding Chen Yi guilty expression, his mood had improved.

In response, Chen Yi hung her head even further low in embarrassment, silently biting her lip. 

She refused to speak.

But that tactic could not stop Li Luxian.

"Zhang Yufang did not mention many other things you did." Li Luxian observed Chen Yi face getting redder through the corner of his eyes while reading the papers. "Like the things you did after our bedroom door closed." He silently added.

Astonished, Chen Yi's head snapped up. 

Her righteous-self could not do anything shameless. She definitely did not do anything.

Perceiving tangible disbelief in her eyes, Li Luxian generously offered. "Oh...you want evidence?" 

Evidence...?

How could he have evidence?

As if reading her thoughts, Li Luxian closed the documents, crossed the distance between them, ending up grabbing Chen Yi's chin, making her look into his eyes. Chen Yi's pupil shrank as she tried to figure out what he was up to.

However, as soon as a slow smirk formed over his lips, a bright red mark on her neck attracted her eyes. She gasped, subconsciously pulling the blanket around her body. "What did we do last night?" She timidly asked.

'What else? She tortured him while he had to endure and restrain himself.' Thought Li Luxian bitterly.

He did not reveal any of that bitterness on the surface.

"What do you think?" On the contrary, Li Luxian smirked at her with confidence.

Chen Yi silently bit her lip, once again her eyes trailing to the glaring red mark on Li Luxian beautiful yet strong neck. It was definitely not an innocent mosquito bite. Her heart shuddered.

When Li Luxian observed her bashful reactions, he couldn't help but compare them to her last night's provocativeness.

Oh, how he wished she behaved the same way she did last night now that she was sober.

He would not have to hold back at anything.

He would do all those things to her that she asked, even more than what she could have ever imagined, making her regret ever provoking him.

Finding his own desires surging, Li Luxian timely backed off and went back to a safe distance. "From now on, I am never letting you drink again." With that declared, he directly strolled out of the room.

Zhang Yufang was still waiting outside.

Li Luxian had not called Zhang Yufang just to help Yi'er recall the happenings of last night. There was still another pressing issue that demanded his immediate attention. "How was your progress?"

Zhang Yufang turned around, immediately the traces of sleepiness disappearing from his eyes. "Sir, I had to borrow my brother's help to contact the event authorities and get the list of all the guests invited." Zhang Yufang's brother was Zhang Xin, Li Luxian secretary, his right-hand man, and the most loyal aide.

It was only because Li Luxian trusted Zhang Xin with his life that he let a man of his recommendation, Zhang Yufang, his own brother, to attend Yi'er. 

"Did you get anywhere?" Li Luxian had specially assigned the duty to Zhang Yufang because last night, Zhang Yufang had also been there. It might be impossible to recognize someone in a party where everyone wore a mask. 

But Zhang Yufang was special. he could tell the person aura and martial arts level through their bearing. 

"Yes Sir,"  Zhang Yufang said. "That man was Tian Xue, the eldest son of the Tian family."

Li Luxian was visibly surprised. "Tian family?"

In the capital city, there was only one 'Tian' family that carried the ability to surprise Li Luxian.

"Yes, Mr. Li, it is the 'Tian' family that had been serving beside the Royal family for centuries.." After detecting the question in his Boss's eyes, Zhang Yufang solemnly affirmed.
