Chapter 11 - Its Just A Toy

As Li Luxian eyes landed on that gun, an astonishment settled deeply in his heart. No one could ever expect that someone as delicate and frail-looking as Chen Yi could possibly be in the possession of a deadly weapon.

Li Luxian laughed. "It looks like you are going to be far more interesting than I anticipated."

"Don't take it seriously. It's just a toy; a fake replica I carry around to scare off scoundrels sometimes. Haha," Chen Yi tried her best to act natural. But her laugh came out totally fake. Dammit!

Chen Yi bent to grab it but before that Zhang Min had already reached out to the gun, picked it up and placed it in Li Luxian hands.

Damn you, secretary! I'll get back at you for that!

"Toy?" His voice was manifested with profound amusement as he slowly examined the gun. "Why don't I believe you?"

Chen Yi bit her tongue. She knew she was done for. This man would know for sure if it was a toy or not.

"If I remember correctly, it is a Sig Sauer P320. Isn't it?"

Chen Yi's head was numb. It was alright if he realized easily that it was not a toy but to recognize the model with a single glance? Was this man a mob too?

"Sig Sauer P320" That name also piqued Zhang Xin's interest. A ripple could be seen on his usually cold, stiff face. He tilted his head slightly to look at that gun.

Meanwhile, Li Luxian titled was still busy examining the gun. He titled it slightly and was shocked. "And one even without a serial number." His voice was getting excited. His future wife was seriously getting more and more of his interest.

'Without a serial number,' That fact also flabbergasted secretary Zhang Xin. "Boss, are you sure?"

"Look for yourself." Zhang Min inspected the gun. After a while, he looked at Chen Yi with strange expressions.

Chen Yi gulped. 'This is wrong. I can't let them get any more of my secrets.' She lurched forward and snatched the gun from Zhang Min's hands.

"I think that's enough of inspection" Her tone was icy. She wanted to make them give up his ideas of further interrogating her. She opened her cupboard and placed the gun in its case. While she prayed in her heart 'Please let it go' Of course if the tycoon wanted to know why she had a gun, who was she to have the ability to stop him?

But what he said second laters was totally unexpected to Chen Yi.

"If someone is threatening you, you do not need to fear them any longer. Now that you have signed the contract your safety is my responsibility." Just these words. No more words. All that needed to be said was conveyed. Chen Yi froze for a moment. She felt something that made her smile.

Before leaving Li Luxian gave his secretary a glance. Being with his boss for the last ten years, Zhang Xin quickly understood what his Boss wanted from just a mere glance. He would dig out who was threatening Boss's wife in no time.

Stepping out of her apartment, Chen Yi could sense the looks she was getting in her direction from the aunties of neighboring apartments. She sighed. "This is going to be difficult." That man was sure an eye-candy. Especially with his dress and elegant gait, one couldn't help but stop in his track to give him a second glance. In a poor region where she had rented an apartment, they didn't get a person as refreshing and youthful as Li Luxian, visiting every day.

And let's just not mention half a dozen big burly bodyguards that were following them.

Just as they stepped out of the building, Chen Yi's eyes landed on a big black Mercedes standing in its glory in the street. A few bystanders were standing around it and taking their time to admire it. No one dared to near it as if scared of its magnificence.

At that moment, Li Luxian felt like something was wrong. His eyes unconsciously scanned around the area. He stopped abruptly. His eyes caught an ephemeral reflection of a person trying to escape unnoticed. But that person's evasive movements couldn't elude Li Luxian's perceptive eyes. At a distance, Li Luxian could also discern a familiar retreating car.

"Is it him?" Li Luxian asked Zhang Xin knowing that his secretary who was on high alert all the time, would have seen that suspicious movement for sure.

Zhang Xin had equally tense expressions.

Li Luxian was quiet for a while deciding what to do. Meanwhile, Chen Yi walked closer to them. Li Luxian looked at her, unsure about how to deal with the situation.

"What happened?" She was confused, finding their strange expressions.

But instead of an answer, she was given a kiss.
