Chapter 68

“Ah, my secret to skincare is to have a good mood. When you feel good, your complexion will naturally be better.” Doris continued with a bright smile, “You young people should try to keep a good mood at all times.”

Heller smiled, “I see. I don’t think I’ve seen Uncle Ren yet?”

“Your Uncle Ren just had surgery some time ago for his veins and felt a little uncomfortable. So, he’s resting upstairs.” Doris answered without changing her expression.

“Then I’ll go see him later.”

“No need. Just let him rest.”

“With everyone downstairs today, Uncle Ren probably feels lonely alone. I can go upstairs with Eugene for a little bit later.” Heller insisted.

Meanwhile, Eugene was looking for Jin WoWo’s figure in the sea of people. Ever since he saw Jin WoWo at the banquet last time, he couldn’t seem to get the image of him out of his head.

It was a pity that Jin WoWo either always took guards or was accompanied by Raymond whenever he went out so he didn’t have a chance to get close.

Hearing Heller’s words, Eugene said immediately: “Heller and I can go up now.”

Maybe, Jin WoWo was with Ren upstairs. Eugene thought.

The smile on Doris’s face became a bit forced. She used to want Heller as her future daughter-in-law. She looked good, had a gentle personality, and had a good family background.

However, now that she has Jin WoWo, she actually felt that Heller was a far cry from her current daughter-in-law.

Although Heller looked good, she always gave people a sense of distance. With such a gentle personality, she looked to be a bit too restrained and boring in comparison to Jin WoWo who was a little badass from time to time but still had a simple and kind temperament engraved in his bones.

Although Doris’s love rival (Eugene’s mother) was already married and had children, Doris still felt uneasy when thinking about how Eugene looked so similar to his mother, as she repeatedly displayed herself in front of Ren after she (Doris) had gotten married.

The smile on Doris’s face shrank a little, and she was no longer tactful. “Don’t go up, your Uncle Ren hates it the most when others disturb him,” Doris said directly.

Heller’s smile turned stiff and there was an embarrassing atmosphere surrounding the air.

This was the first time Heller has been rejected so bluntly ever since she turned into a young lady. Seeing that she couldn’t insist without losing her dignity, Heller dryly said, “Then, we won’t disturb Uncle Ren and let him have a good rest.”

Eugene was a little disappointed, and his gaze kept moving back to the direction of the stairs.

Doris gave them another glance, feeling more upset, before turning to talk to someone else.

Eugene complained to Heller in a low voice, “If you had just chosen Raymond at the start, would you still need to be like this? You’re too pretentious.”

Heller secretly gnashed her teeth and glanced at Eugene coldly from the corner of her eye.

The birthday party hasn’t officially started yet, and the various gifts from the guests were being placed and guided into the storage room by the old butler one by one.

Jin WoWo was looking around in the pile of gifts right now, looking like a child who had just entered a playground where everything was still novel and fun.

Jin WoWo saw the beautifully packed box, and wanted to open it to see the gift inside, then play with it in his hand, and put it back.

Jin WoWo walked over and saw that there was a small and delicate-looking flannel box in the second pile. The box was low-key, a black box with simple gold silk decorations, revealing a silent luxurious aura.

This combination of black and gold was a favorite of Raymond’s.

Who could be so caring and meticulous when thinking about giving gifts? Jin WoWo thought to himself as he picked up the small box, wanting to open it to see what was inside.

As a result, the box was equipped with a code lock.

Raymond took it and looked it over. After trying a few passwords, he didn’t manage to open it. He frowned slightly and moved his five fingers to use brute force.

Jin WoWo quickly grabbed the other’s hand, “Hey hey, don’t you dare. The box is pretty good-looking. Don’t damage it.”

Jin WoWo took the box back and studied it for a while. The more he couldn’t open it, the more Jin WoWo wanted to know what was inside and who sent the gift.

Suddenly, he said, “Try unlocking it with your birthday.”

Raymond entered his birthday into the electronic lock and a green light flashed twice on the box. It was unlocked

Jin WoWo could not wait to open the lid of the box to take a look, and was stunned.

Raymond was also stunned when he saw the contents of the box.

Inside, they saw a bottle of Vein Clearing Liquid lying in an exquisite, luxurious, and high-end atmosphere.

Although he and Raymond did not hold a partner ceremony, they have already disclosed their relationship to the outside world. Yet, this Heller still left such a small note at this time. It really made him feel oh so very happy.

When Jin WoWo felt upset, he would purse his lips. Most people wouldn’t notice such a small change in expression

Only Raymond, who had been paying attention to the golden snail all day, could distinguish this subtle change at a glance.

Raymond carefully looked at Jin WoWo’s expression, reached out, and pulled him into his arms. “I didn’t know before. Even if I knew, I would never like her.” Raymond explained in a low voice.

Jin WoWo gave Raymond a sideway glanced and softly huffed as a response.

Seeing Jin WoWo’s reaction, Raymond was a little nervous. “Then I will throw away the gift she gave now.”

As he said that, he picked up the bottle of Vein Clearing Liquid and the delicate flannel box, and was about to throw them into the trash can.

Jin WoWo grabbed his arm, stopping him. 

Jin WoWo rolled his eyes and his lips turned up to form an eerie smile. “Forget it. It’s still something I blended by myself. I really like the taste. Let’s keep it as a drink.”

Not only did Jin WoWo want to drink the bottle of medicine. He also wanted to drink it right in front of Heller.
