Chapter 285 – Wintry Moon Zombie

Inner Arts Martialist controls Qi; that was why they would generally have a unique weapon, mostly swords or blades, of their own to use as a conduit for their Qi to display a myriad of functions. However, External Martialist focused on developing their bodies, most would still use a weapon they were comfortable with to enhance their fighting power.

Now that Yang Tian has become a Rank 4 Martialist, there was indeed a need for him to find a suitable weapon. Jiang Lie’s Blazing Ancient Sword was an Epic Rank, this was the same for Ji Tian Luo’s Thunderflash Sword as well, but both of the weapons were in a sealed condition.

The two of them were both Children of Heaven, these weapons appeared next to them the moment they awakened their abilities. Yang Tian’s sworn enemy was also a Child of Heaven, but the treasure he got was far better than Jiang Lie’s despite both being Children of Heaven.

Yang Tian thought that it would be a peaceful night in C City, but things never go as planned.

Beep-Bo Beep-Bo

The sirens that signified the highest state of alert rang through C City, all the soldiers gathered in half a minute after the alarm was heard as Yang Tian watched them from the window.

The attack this time was triggered by… Zombies.

It should currently still be the Insect Wave, why did the zombies attack? Did the zombies in C City not need to worry about the insects or otherworld invaders?

“Boss, are we helping them?”

“Let’s watch and act based on the situation.”

“Okay.”

Lei Xing had a total of three storage bracelets on him, all of them were filled with Gun-Type Magic Energy Equipments or special bullets, there were also some high-rank materials and defense equipment to handle problematic situations.

Lei Xing took out a pair of Early Rank 3 Inferno Handguns from the bracelets, preparing for battle at any time.

Yang Tian casually walked while Lei Xing followed behind Yang Tian on high alert. There were many metahumans from the various organizations gathered in the hotel lobby, all of them likely startled awake by the sirens as well.

Xiong Gang’s burly body entered Yang Tian’s vision, next to him was the alluring woman, her clothes were slightly messy, allowing Yang Tian to guess immediately what they were doing before.

Xiong Gang approached Yang Tian immediately because he was the most familiar with him, moreover, the fighting power that Yang Tian displayed also earned Xiong Gang’s respect.

“Brother, did you discover it as well?”

“That C City was attacked by zombies?”

“Yes. The zombie waves in the cities around my territory have all ended. Yet C City is still experiencing it, there is undoubtedly a problem.”

“May I ask where is brother’s territory?”

“Northwest of C City, near to K City. Brother Yang, where is yours?”

“We seem to be quite far from each other, I am Southeast from C City, close to F City and Z City.”

“That is indeed quite far.”

While Yang Tian and Xiong Gang were talking, at least over a hundred casualties have accumulated, all of them were well-trained metahuman soldiers at the Early Rank 3 level. Based on their abilities, they should not be weak, yet they were injured.

The blood around their injuries was turning dark red, signs that the Zombie Poison was invading their bodies. If the Zombie Poison is not cleared out soon, they will eventually turn into a zombie despite their high physiques.

“They are coming to us.”

Yang Tian saw a group of metahumans running towards them and turned to inform Xiong Gang.

These metahumans arrived in front of Yang Tian just as his words left his mouth, it was the same for the other organizations gathered as well.

“Everyone, we require your assistance. After this incident, we will reward you greatly.”

“Okay, lead the way.”

Yang Tian agreed immediately, the fastest amongst everyone present. The other organizations were hesitant as committing to helping might result in certain deaths.

When Xiong Gang saw Yang Tian agreeing without hesitation, he was shocked and he turned to look at the alluring woman beside him.

Lei Xing asked curiously from behind Yang Tian:

“Boss, are we standing out too much?”

They were the first organization to replied and have attracted the attention of everyone present.

“There is something inside the zombies that attacked, we will miss it if we are too late. When you check the dead zombies later, you will find a black crystal called Wintry Crystal near the energy crystals in their skulls. Focus on collecting these Wintry Crystals, understand?”

“Got it.”

Yang Tian noticed a peculiarity from the wounds inflicted by the zombies when he saw the injured metahumans. The zombies that attacked were not common ones, they are a type of rare zombie that basically could not be found within zombie hordes. This type of zombie only appears and becomes active during the night of a full moon.

Yang Tian looked at the full moon that seems to be emitting a frosty chill and was even more certain about his thoughts.

Wintry Moon Zombie

Their birth was unlike other zombies and are born from corpses that reanimated after absorbing the negative energy during a night of a full moon. Although they are still considered as zombies, their overall fighting power is higher than the average zombie.

As for why they attacked C City, Yang Tian guessed that C City might be possessing a treasure that attracted the Wintry Moon Zombies. 

A large number of Wintry Moon Zombies have gathered outside the walls of C City, Yang Tian saw Jiang Lie leading the metahumans from Blazing Lava City into battle. On the other side of the battlefield, occasionally flashes of bluish-white light could be seen. The light came from Ji Tian Luo’s Thunderflash Sword, the Lightning Attribute was effective against Zombies, even more than the Light Attribute. With each strike of her sword, a zombie will die, but the others were not as fortunate.

Rank 2 Wintry Moon Zombie possessed the ability to injure an Early Rank 3, while an Early Rank 3 Wintry Moon Zombie can face against a Mid Rank 3 metahuman, so and so forth. The number of Early Rank 3 Wintry Moon Zombies was the greatest and was also the most troublesome to deal with. The frost energy from the Wintry Moon Zombies caused fear amongst the metahumans and affected their attacks.

“Focus on collecting the Wintry Crystals, avoid battle as much as you can.”

“Okay.”

Lei Xing entered the battlefield immediately, focusing on extracting the Wintry Crystals from the dead Wintry Moon Zombies rather than fighting. Yang Tian also did the same and started collecting the Wintry Crystals.

Many Wintry Moon Zombies have been killed so far, but the Wintry Crystals in their skulls were still there. There was a high likelihood that the metahumans who hunted them did not have any excess time to inspect the corpse in detail, making them easy pickings for Yang Tian.

Bang

Yang Tian was collecting a Wintry Crystal when a metahuman was kicked by a Wintry Moon Zombie and landed in front of Yang Tian.

“Help… help me.”

The metahuman fainted after saying the words. His body was seventy percent covered in the frost energy of the Wintry Moon Zombie and frozen stiff.
