Chapter 84

The Star of Purity

Chu Tuan nearly laughed as he watched the female sales representative attempt to make a show of being earnest.

Sigh! It is easy to tell that working was not an easy feat, making a living sure was hard!

She really did throw herself out there as she tried to make them buy the pair of rings and spend more money so that she could enjoy more bonuses from her sales.

“You’re right to say that.” Li Sisi laughed, “Things that happened before the marriage can not hold us accountable. Please bring us to the ring section now.”

“Of course.” The sales representative replied happily, “Please follow me this way.”

Chu Tian chuckled as he watched the sales representative leading their way happily in front of them. He said in a low voice, “I like this salesperson, she’s doing her job as if her life depended on it. She’s pretty fun to tease.”

Li Sisi covered her mouth and laughed too. She hugged Chu Tian’s arm as she said, “Let’s not go overboard, it’s not easy for her being out here trying to make a living for herself, after all. We shouldn’t make fun of her.”

“I know.” Chu Tian grinned, “Let’s make the purchase and give the sales to her, she’ll earn a bit more bonuses this way.”

“It’s not just ‘a bit’.” Li Sisi said, “Just you alone can help her earn at least a few tens of thousands.”

“That much?”

“Exactly, the percentage one can take from sales in this industry is not low at all. Except for gold and silver where the percentages are low, or rather, they can’t get anything from their sales at all, but the others have pretty high percentages.”

Half an hour had passed in a blink of an eye.

In the shop, Chu Tian and Li Sisi looked at everything from diamond rings to pearls and jade artefacts and yet, the sales representative had been very patient since the beginning. Although the two did not buy diamond rings in the end, she did not stop introducing them to all the different accessories they have in the shop.

Moreover, she seemed to be very happy and excited throughout her time with them.

Finally, after having a good look around the shop, the sales representative tried to convince them again, “Are you really not going to try our diamond rings? I think there are a few designs which would look really good on you.”

“Forget it,” Chu Tian said, “None of it caught my eyes.”

The sales representative was clearly disappointed when she heard Chu Tian’s words. She said, “W-we’ll have a batch of new designs in a few days. How about you leave your phone number with me and I’ll give you a call right away when the batch arrives so you can have a look?”

“No, thanks.” Chu Tian smiled, “Although none of the diamond rings caught my eye, I find this necklace pretty good.” 

Chu Tian reached out his hand and pointed at the half-body mannequin inside the glass case that was placed right in the middle of the shop.

On the mannequin was a diamond embedded necklace. Glancing over, he could see fragmented rays of light, sparkling brightly. 

It was the diamond necklace that worthed 19 million.

It was not studded with any other coloured gems, the pendant was a big, hexagon rhombus-shaped diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds. Although they were smaller in comparison, each diamond was big enough to be used as the diamond on a diamond ring.

Besides, it had such a pure appearance he was sure that it would be a perfect fit with Bai Xiaochun’s lively and pure image.

The sales representative was stunned for a moment when she saw Chu Tian pointing at the necklace. She then looked back towards Chu Tian and Li Sisi and smiled, “Mister, I am afraid I can’t let you try that on because i-it is extremely expensive. It is over 19 million, so if you are hoping to buy a necklace for your lover, we can go come over here and have a look instead.”

“No,” Chu Tian said, “I’m buying that.”

Huh? He’s buying that?

The sales representative was stunned again when she heard his confident tone. She stared at him with both her eyes, her gaze filled with doubt as if she could not believe it.

Was he for real? Judging from the clothes he was wearing, he sure did not seem like a rich person.

Li Sisi, on the other hand, looked quite like a rich person. The clothes on her were obviously of quality, but even then, she was probably not rich enough to buy a necklace that was 19 million dollars worth!

The sales representative smiled apologetically and said, “I’m sorry, mister. M-my mind wandered just now and did not hear what you said. What did you just say?”

“I said,” Chu Tian answered, “That necklace, I’m buying it. Why, is that necklace not for sale? I did see the price label though?”

Hearing Chu Tian confident tone, the sales representative quickly smiled and said, “We sell it, of course we are selling it. We are selling this necklace too. Please wait for a moment, I will be back right away.”

Just as she finished her sentence, the sales representative, who was wearing a pair of short high heels, turned around immediately and jogged back to the office at the back where her manager was.

Two minutes later, a woman looking to be in her 40s walked out with the sales representative.

When they arrived at where Chu Tian was, the woman reached out her hand with a smile on her face, “Hello, I am the manager of this shop, my last name is Cheng.

Chu Tian shook her hand with a smile as well, “Hello, Manager Cheng.”

“That…” Manager Cheng glanced at the diamond necklace in the middle of the shop and then looked back at Chu Tian and smiled, “Are you planning to try that ‘Star of Purity?’”

Star of Purity?

“It has a name?” Chu Tian asked.

“Yes,” Manager Cheng answered with a smile, “The diamond carving master, Zhou Yun, spent two and a half years designing and carving this. She named it the ‘Star of Purity’. Just as you can see, it is pure with no defects, symbolising the female’s purity, it also symbolises love’s purity.”

Chu Tian nodded his head slowly and beamed, “I love this name, I’m buying this.”

“…J-just like that?”

Not expecting Chu Tian to be so straightforward, Manager Cheng could not adapt quick enough.

“Yes.” Chu Tian said, “Let’s take it out and try it on.”

“I understand.” Manager Cheng's face was filled with a bright smile as she quickly led Chu Tian and Li Sisi towards the necklace.
