Chapter 104: Secrets Exposed

After Ye Wuchen returned to the Ye residence, it was not long before he took Ning Xue out for a walk. In truth, he really liked being treated as a young master. He does not need to attend school, to go to work, and all his needs were completely taken cared of by somebody else. During his free time he could teach sister to paint, or play in water with Ning Xue, even stroll around the streets. He was free to do anything at his leisure.

Ye Wuchen was not the focal point of every person wherever they went, because the rings of light looped around his body. Now that the news had spread about the Hua Family breaking off the marriage and were now inclined towards the Ye Family, yet another ring of light had been added around his head.

Looking at the sky, he mumbled to himself in a low voice, “It should be today… But, what’s with this strange feeling? Could it be that some changes took place outside of my calculations?”

The face of this “young woman” transformed again. She put away her painstakingly fake appearance and said with a complicated expression, “Follow me.”

Inside the Meng Yan House, music played everywhere and the men and women inside were missing some pieces of clothing. Obscene and extravagant sounded, utterly immoral to the ears, it was difficult to imagine that a princess of the Southern Empire, also the Emperor’s woman, would live in such a place. And it was rumored that the number of times she left this place within the past five years was less than three times.

Ignoring the astonished looks from the men and women, Ye Wuchen did not glance sideways and only headed straight, following behind the woman while holding Ning Xue in his arms. They proceeded through the second floor and continued until they reached the topmost floor.

A door with a seal of a private room pushed open and faint, sweet scent assailed their nostrils. Without any prompting from the young woman, he bluntly stepped inside. The young woman furrowed her brows, unable to bear it. “You already knew that we are people from the Southern Empire. Do you not fear that by entering without any careful consideration, we could easily kill you?”

Ye Wuchen turned a deaf ear, flipped a hand to shut the door loudly, angering the woman, who tried to warn him, and she nearly stomped her feet.

“Brother, what is this place?” Ning Xue asked, observing all around.

“This is a place with plenty of women. For example, on top of your head there’s three women, at the back of the door there’s two women, at the far right side behind the curtain there’s two women leaning on it and their posture is quite offensive to the eyes. Ahead, behind the veiled door is a person. All of them are secretly observing us.” Ye Wuchen described. He then proceeded to the elegant seat in the middle, moving Ning Xue to sit on his lap, a hand wrapped around her waist, another hand held a teacup with the distinct fragrance of the tea. He nonchalantly drank a mouthful.

The spots that Ye Wuchen had mentioned had clearly exuded fiercer auras with the rise and fall of their breaths.

“Why won’t they come out?” Ye Ning Xue asked.

“Because they are too ugly, they refuse to see any one.” Ye Wuchen put down the teacup and held Ning Xue tightly on his lap. “How can they be compared to the loveliness of my Ning Xue?”

“Master Ye is quite courageous, as expected. Meng Chan really admires you.” The door behind the pink veil was lightly pushed open to reveal a gentle and beautiful figure. She gracefully sat down by the table with the incense burner. Separated by the cotton veil, Ye Wuchen could not clearly see her face. “You flatter me, Lady Shui. You have given me such absurd praise. Compared to Lady Shui, who never leaves this place in the last five years, my so-called courage is really nothing.” Ye Wuchen said looking at her. His gaze seemed to penetrate the veil to directly look at her face.

Although separated by a veil, Shui Mengchan brought a feeling that made him want to look straight at her. Her pink lips slightly opened to let out a soft voice, “Mengchan is just an ordinary woman. How can I be worth your praise? Now that everyone knows that Master Ye has outstanding knowledge, and is an extraordinary talent, Mengchan has looked forward to meeting you. The wonderful figure behind the veil shook her head, “Mengchan already belongs to the Emperor of Tian Long. Before entering the palace, I am prohibited from meeting other men. Please forgive me, Master Ye.”

“There nothing to forgive. I’m just asking, though I am not interested on your appearance. But….” Ye Wuchen laughed coldly, he unhurriedly said, “Lady Mengchan says she already belongs to the Emperor of Tian Long…...Do you really think so?”

“It is being arranged by my father, and Mengchan is only here to follow. This is not a secret matter in Tian Long.” Shui Mengchan spoke softly, her voice vaguely contained some unwillingness.

“Wuchen had heard about this matter before. But Lady Mengchan, do you know how I felt when I heard this rumor about your Southern Empire and the Royal Family of Tian Long?”

The reason why you became enemies is because of some continued tradition. but as time went, the vendetta became weaker and weaker as each generation passed. Your war only brings death. It doesn’t make any sense, yet it’s difficult to determine which side would win. When it reached your generation, you refused to be hostile anymore, and the result of living together in harmony caused your attentions to shift. “The Kings of the Southern Empire and the Northern Empire are no longer clans with powers that exceeded the outside world, nor colossus beings who paid no attention to worldly affairs. The frangrance inside the chamber became more obviously disorienting and the murderous spirits mixed among the airflow. Still, Shui Mengchan softly said, “Master Ye, although I admire your talent, I cannot allow any person to create misunderstandings about my Southern Empire. Please do not tell jokes like that, Master Ye.”

“A joke? Whether it is a joke or not as a princess of the Southern Empire you knew better than anybody else.” Ye Wuchen smiled indifferently and tasted a mouthful of tea, “In those days, the King of the Southern Empire was chased by the king of the Northern Empire. Instead of escaping to the highest mountain or deepest forest, you’d rather escape to Tian Long City. Apparently, you know that the Emperor would meddle in your affairs. The funny thing is, your Southern Empire had been incomparably stronger than the Northern Empire, and Heaven-Level Masters who were treated as Great Masters, were numerous in your clan. The Tian Long Royal Family had dispatched three Heaven-Level Protectors and an army of guards but your troops completely defeated the King of the Northern Empire, to the point of them not showing up ever again for a very long. Lady Shui, don’t you feel at least a little bit awkward about this?”

“My Southern Empire and the Northern Empire were evenly matched. The presence of external help could easily break the balance, giving us the easy win. It isn’t strange at all.” Shui Mengchan still maintained her tender and soft tone.

“Really? When your King had been poisoned and pursued for a very long time, it would have been impossible to say that there was no damage. With some external help from somebody not that strong, how could you have defeated the King of Northern Empire and caused them not the appear again for more than ten years?”
