World of Hidden Phoenixes Chapter 20

Xiao Yin stopped.

But that was only because there were no more joints that he could break. The hand was no longer that slender and jade-like hand. It hanging limply as though a slight breeze could blow it away.

It was all said that female’s hands feel soft and like they don’t have any bones, yet when the hands are actually without bones, it doesn’t feel good at all!

Xiao Yin slowly released her bone-less hand. He suddenly felt that it was a little hot. When he looked down, he saw that his hand was covered in sweat. He stood up, adjusted his collar, breathed out, and then slowly walked toward the teacup on the table and drunk from it. He suddenly realized that the tea had already been drunk by the female. He froze as he stared at the cup. The image of her gracefully tilting her head back to drink the tea replayed in his mind. He threw away the cup and then turned around to walk in front of Hua Zhu Yu.

Her delicate back was still straight – like a tall and straight bamboo that no matter how the wind blew, would not be blown over.

Her silky hair hung down. It had been soaked with sweat and stuck to her forehead. The rouge had been washed away by her sweat, making it messy and dirty, yet the places where sweat had gone through showed the true nature of her skin – pale and almost transparent. The cloth on her right shoulder, which had the barbed arrow embedded in it, had been dyed so red that it made people fall into shock.

Yet, she still did not beg for forgiveness.

The pair of eyes silently stared at him. It didn’t have melancholy; it didn’t have terror; it didn’t have loathing, yet it had pride. She stared at an expression that made her seem like she was smiling yet not smiling at the same time.

Originally, Xiao Yin believed that his purple eyes were the most beautiful eyes in the world, yet, the pair of eyes that was in front of him was also just as beautiful. The eyes were black, a very pure black, an unfathomable black. It seemed like it could at any time suck his heart in.

He had become furious as fast as a storm came yet it had disappeared similarly fast. He didn’t know at what time his anger , like misty rain, had suddenly died down. And also, completely out of his predictions, he actually felt a little bit of pity.

This type of feeling made him extremely scared!

“This way. If you beg bendianxia for forgiveness, bedianxia will forgive you.” He leaned forward as he said. His eagle-like eyes flashed with an angry light.

Yet even he did not know what exactly he was angry at!

“No!” She answered coldly, and without hesitation.

Xiao Yin stared at her was disbelief. If someone else was in her position, no matter who it was or even if it was a male, they would probably be unable to withstand such pain. The moment they heard that he could forgive them if they begged, they would probably have kneeled on the ground and sobbed while begging for forgiveness.

However, when she heard that he would forgive her, she had refused so quickly!

Could it be that she isn’t afraid of pain?!

It wasn’t that Hua Zhu Yu wasn’t afriad of pain, rahter it was the opposite – she was extremely afraid of it. The pain in her shoulders and the pain in her fingers had not stopped because Xiao Yin had stopped, rather they continued.

However, asking her to beg for forgiveness?

She never would do so!

She still remembered that night when she had fallen in the dust and begged him to find Jin Se’s corpse, yet he had coldly turned around, didn’t even pay attention to her and refused in such a manner.

After having begged once, that was already enough!

And also, she knew that begging to someone else wouldn’t necessarily be of use. And Xiao Yin would not forgive her just because she had begged.

He would only look down on her; he would only kill her!

And so, she will never beg!

Xiao Yin looked at Hua Zhu Yu. He saw that her eyebrows were tightly frowing, and that her un-wounded hand was tightly clenched. Her mouth was bitting onto a piece of cloth which had been bitten off of her clothes. The piece of cloth had a sign of blood on it, and so she had most likely bit open some part of her mouth.

It wasn’t that she didn’t fear pain, rather it had hurt painfully, yet she just didn’t want to beg for forgiveness.

For the first time, Xiao Yin felt a sort of helpless feeling.

With just a sentence, he could make her perish, yet killing her would not be of any use. He still felt that he was the loser.

This type of feeling was extremely uncomfortable.

He pressed his lips together. He slowly walked got up and walked behind her.He grasped her other hand- her other delicate hand.

However, there was the sign of wounds in the shape of nails that she had created. It let off the light smell of blood.

He wanted to continue to torture her, yet for some reason, he felt that he couldn’t do so any further.

“You are only a servant – a servant that had been used by others. Since Hua Mu had let you replace his daughter for marriage, why would you want to waste your life for him? Why don’t you stay in the North Kingdom and follow along with bendianxia? Bendianxia will forgive you if you do so.” Xiao Yin said in a low voice.

Hua Zhu Yu still did not hesitate in her answer as she simply said: “Okay!”Although her voice was very hoa.r.s.e and low, it was firm.

“What?” Xiao Yin thought that he had heard incorrectly. He seemed to not be able to believe that she had answered so simply. Wasnt she supposed to say ‘no’?

“I said ‘okay’!”Hua Zhu Yu slowly said each word.

Staying in the North Kingdom didn’t neccesarily mean staying in the North Kingdom her whole life. She could still leave at any time. And following him, also didn’t mean following him her whole life.

Xiao Yin looked at her tall and straight back. He didn’t know why but in his heart, he had actually felt relieved. He really didn’t now what he would be able to do if she didn’t agree as he was unsure if he could even torture her again!
