Chapter 130: Private

Jing Yan hurriedly chased after him. “Lee Yang, Lee Yang, where are you going?” When she grabbed Lee Yang by his arm, he flung it away and left without looking back.

To my surprise, Jing Yan abandoned the fight with me and chased after her man.

Nanyang tugged at Jing Ning’s clothes. She looked worried. Jing Ning glanced at me and said nothing. In the end, he chased after Jing Yan. Nanyang followed.

The rest stayed.

I looked at them, my meaning was clear. Aren’t you people going to leave too?

Ye Qian sat back down. “Nanxing, I’m sorry, I didn’t expect things to turn out like this.”

I smiled at me. “Miss Ye, you’re too kind. I believe you knew it would turn out like this, you just didn’t expect how serious it would be. So how do you feel after seeing your handiwork come into fruition?”

Ye Qian’s smile didn’t even waver. “Nanxing, you don’t seem to like me.”

I smiled back at her sincerely, “Miss Ye, there are so many people fighting over each other to like you, you really don’t need me to like you.”

Gu Yan added snidely, “Miss Nan, do you have to be so sarcastic every time?”

I replied, “Miss Gu, are you being sarcastic?”

Gu Yan’s face dropped. “Why are you being so harsh on us? We haven’t done anything wrong by you.”

Well, isn’t that a bold-faced lie?

I found it to be quite funny. “Miss Gu, why are you acting like a victim all of a sudden? Who is this performance for?” I turned to Shi Feng, after all, he was the only man there.

Shi Feng shrugged. “This has nothing to do with me.”

“Nanxing, we sincerely want to be your friend.” Ye Qian said seriously.

I replied seriously, “I sincerely do not think we can be friends.”

Gu Yan snapped, “Nanxing, we’re already giving you face. Don’t push it!”

I turned away from the girl and smiled at Ye Qian. “Miss Ye, it sure is hard having to contend with such an unhelpful teammate, yes?” Finally Ye Qian’s smile froze.

Shi Feng suddenly clapped. “Nanxing, I love you so much!”

I… What is wrong with this man?!

“Are you crazy?” I commented bluntly.

Shi Feng smiled brighter. “Nanxing, the incident with Tong Lin was my fault but believe me when I say my love for you is true!”

I frowned and took a sip of the tea. “Thank you but I really don’t like you.”

Shi Feng took my rejection in stride. “That’s alright. Who can say what will happen in the future? I believe fate will eventually bring us together.”

I was too lazy to answer him anymore.

“Nanxing!” I turned around and was surprised to see Mai Qi who was sitting right there. Ever since Ye Qian brought her people into our private booth, Mai Qi had been extremely quiet so much so that I had forgotten about her existence.

I looked at her.

“I’m sorry.” Mai Qi said seriously.

This time I was truly surprised. I didn’t expect someone of her status to apologize to me. And why?

Mai Qi turned to Ye Qian, “Sister Ye Qian, do you mind taking your friends away for a moment? I have something private to discuss with Nanxing and Jing Ni.”

Ye Qian’s face was stiff but she quickly answered gently. “Mai Qi, we are very good friends with Nanxing’s sister and Jing Ni’s brother. We should stay just in case you have trouble explaining the situation to Nanxing and Jing Ni. After all, you are new to Pearl River. We’re here to prevent misunderstanding.”

Mai Qi claimed directly, “I’m sorry but this matter is only between me and Nanxing. Sister Ye Qian, thank you for your concern though.”

Ye Qian had no choice but to stand up. However, her tone was still incredibly kind. “Okay then, we shall leave first. Nanxing, Mai Qi is incredibly kind but she can be quite willful at times. I shall apologize on her behalf to you in advanced.”

I studied her with a faint smile, “Sister Ye is so considerate. Does this mean that Mai Qi and I now owe you a favor?”

Ye Qian smiled generously, “Nanxing, trust me, I only want to be your friend.”

I smiled back. “Is that so?”

Gu Yan scoffed as she stormed out, “Ye Qian, she is too dumb to appreciate your kindness. Stop lowering yourself to her level. Aren’t you tired from all the ass-kissing?” Finally I saw a crack to Ye Qian’s facade.

Mai Qi turned to Shi Feng, “You should go with them.”

Shi Feng argued, “But I’m Nanxing’s friend. Can’t I stay?”

Mai Qi didn’t say anything but I commented, “Nanxing doesn’t have a friend called Shi Feng. Please don’t be so shameless.”

Shi Feng chuckled helplessly. “Indeed, Shi Feng is Nanxing’s lovestruck dummy who will be there by her side forever to atone for his sins.”

My face darkened.

Shi Feng raised his hands in surrender. “Fine, I was just joking!”

He walked out with great elegance.
