Chapter 119: Burn it All

“Nanxing, you lunatic! I’m going to kill you!” Yan Xin struggled with all her might and cursed at me.

“No.” He shook his head as he observed my expression.

I smiled as I threw the backpack I hid behind me at him. “These are the stacks of money you took out from the house. Give it to Brother Hu. Stop asking Brother Gao Jing and Gao Da for money, okay? You guys have to learn to be independent.”

Tan Si hugged the backpack and he was dumbfounded. “Sister, Sister Xing…”

I scolded him, “Do you need me to repeat it?”

“No, of course, not. But Sister Xing, why?” Tan Si stammered. Ah Mang asked in a low voice, “Sister Xing, I think Tan Si doesn’t understand why did you burn all those money. That was such a waste. You could have given them to Master Qi or Master S. It’s not that we are money-hungry but we just feel that they can be used to do many things.”

I joked. “Aren’t you supposed to be a tough mafia member? Why are you crying?”

“Sister Xing, we swear to serve you for life!” Tan Si used his way to show his approval of my method.

When we arrived at the hospital, Jing Tian was already waiting for me at my ward. I dumped the crutches and leaped into his arms. I hadn’t seen him and hugged him for a long time already.

After my exam, he was so busy. Before I was kidnapped, I saw Jing Tian covered in blood. I always thought that was a nightmare of him. For a moment, I thought we were already separated by life and death.

My tears fell involuntarily as I buried my head into his chest. His palms patted my back gently. My ankle was in a lot of pain but I didn’t care. The pain made me clear-headed and holding Jing Tian was all the medication I needed.

We shared our body temperature. I rubbed against his chest. He tapped my back and said gently, “That’s enough. You need to get into bed. Your ankle is injured so you shouldn’t stand for too long.”

I let go of him and looked up. “What about you? Where are you injured? Let me see!”

He lowered his eyes and a faint smile marked his lips. “I’m fine. You need to get into bed!” I touched him through the patient’s outfit. I could feel the bandage around his chest. I gasped, “Are your injuries serious?”

He shook his head, took my hand, and led me to the bed. I crawled into bed and lay down.

I sighed. “Your injuries must be very serious.”

He raised his brow at me.

I smiled mischievously. “If not, you would have carried me into bed.”

Jing Tian’s eyes were dancing with smiles but the rest of his face was expressionless.

Damn this man, how did he manage to master the ability to hide his emotions so well?
