Chapter 88 - Routine

As soon as the sun rose in the sky, the three members of the Lu family woke up and started their routine for the day. The big and mini ice blocks were the fastest to wake up. Lu Qiang is a very disciplined child with a strict body clock.

He sleeps at 9:30 pm and wakes up at 6:30 in the morning. He's capable enough to bathe himself so he showers as soon as he wakes up and dresses himself wearing the attire Xiu Mei had chose the night before.

Lu Chen who slept at midnight also woke up without the use of any alarm. Even with less than 8 hours of sleep, he got up early to start the day.

The lady of the house, Xiu Mei, was already wide awake up but she was the type to drag some time for a little bit on the bed before officially starting her morning routine. She doze off staring at nowhere facing the window where streams of sunlight were filling the room.

After a full 5 minutes, she finally regained her senses and stood up from the bed. She showered and spent almost half an hour putting on makeup.

At around 8:30, the three were already sitting together on the dining table with freshly cooked food that was cooked by the chef.

An hour later, the president and the secretary are now ready to go to work. Reminding Lu Qiang a couple of things, Xiu Mei went to the office with a light heart.

Xiu Mei went straight to the pantry room to prepare Lu Chen's tea. Waiting for the leaves to steep enough in the warm water, she carried the tray inside his office.

"Here's your morning tea." She stated, as she lightly served the warm tea on his table. She was just about to go back to her station when Lu Chen immediately stopped her from going.

"Wait."

She looked back at him puzzled. Is he going to add some tasks in her workload today?

"Last night, I've thought about it."

Xiu Mei gave a confused stare at Lu Chen for a few seconds before remembering what she had said last night. Since it was already so late, somehow, the conversation last night didn't register in her mind that much.

She approached Lu Chen's table and leaned on it as she excitedly questioned.

"So what's your final answer?"

Please say yes! Say yes! Or else she's going to seriously mess up his the sleek hairstyle he worked hard fixing at this very moment.

"Let's try it out first. If it doesn't go well, it's very easy to just pull him back." Lu Chen smiled as he watched his wife's reaction. He thought about the matter of enrolling Lu Qiang at a primary school the whole night and finally gave the idea a shot.

After being enlightened up by Xiu Mei in some things about Lu Qiang, he realized that the only way to really protect him if the little kid could really hold on his own once he grows up. It was something he had overlooked before because all he knew was that he already failed to protect his cousin and cousin-in-law, he couldn't fail in protecting his now-son from all the people who killed his parents.

Besides, the little kid is being very sticky with his wife to the point that he gets less time to spend together with Xiu Mei. If making him busier would give him more time to spend with the wife then spending a few more RMB won't be a losing game at all.

"Great! I'll start looking for good schools then!" Xiu Mei clapped and exclaimed.

Finally! The schools she looked up online won't go in vain. She can now really find a good school for Lu Qiang!! At least, she's very hopeful that the little kid would finally have some people to talk with and friends to hang out with.

"Okay, then we'll look at it together after and choose the best option."

"Hmm!"

"You can spend a little more on his education." He advised, as he clarified that Xiu Mei didn't need to worry on the fee. Even if he was a bit miser on himself and to the people around him, investing in his son's education isn't an expense at all.

Also, if he didn't spend money on these two ancestors, won't he get bashed for being stingy?

Forget it, he can just be a miser on his own. He'll just give up on the customised suit he was planning to order at Dormeuil. He still has quite a few more expensive pieces at home, he'll just change them later.

Since Lu Chen is still a public figure, he still had to invest a little bit more on his formal suits. He would often order an expensive suit a few times a year, but since he's planning to spend a lot on the little kids' education, he can just tighten his annual spending a little bit.

"I know."Xiu Mei kept his reminder in her mind.

She bounced out happily out of the room, spring in her steps. She looked very fresh and excited and Xiu Mei's smiled from ear-to-ear as she continued to her workstation.

Her assistant looked puzzled at her while Lu Shao just ignore her and continued on his work. Yesterday, the two of them were arguing to the point that Xiu Mei slammed the door in anger so loudly. Then today, Xiu Mei walked out of the room looking happier than she ever did when she arrived. The assistant glanced at the closed office door where the president is and on Xiu Mei's face.

Before, it was always Mr.Lu that she had to always stay away from and be careful with when the president is being moody. He's a weird handsome guy that's just rich. Overall, this type of guy was surely not his type.

Then back to her boss that she had been working on with for almost a year. Ms.Xiu was the best model for being a secretary. She's intelligent, responsible and has good leadership that almost everyone calls her the second boss. The first boss is the president, second boss is Xiu Mei while Lu Xia was the dutiful bodyguard by his side.

Lately, this boss of hers seems to be changing a little bit more and it seems that the change is because of the president. After being rumored to be together, at first she thought this was a hoax but she finally noticed the small interactions that's been happening between Mr.Lu and Ms.Xiu.

She gave Xiu Mei a final glance before resuming the file she was reading before. Concentrate!

The morning passed by without a hitch.

Since getting married, Xiu Mei and Lu Chen finally spent time together. Even though Xiu Mei still had a clear distinction of her work as a secretary and as her wife, she would still spend at least her lunch with Lu Chen in his office.

Today, the cook packed them a sumptuous seafood lunch for consuming.

While Xui Mei waited for Lu Chen to finish peeling the shrimp and deboning the fish, she tasted a little bit of everything of the side dishes.

"Here's your shrimp." Lu Chen pushed the little mountain of shrimp towards her. She gratefully accepted it and started eating.

"What do you think about enrolling him somewhere near here?" She voiced out.

"At least we can easily drop off and pick him up to and from school. I didn't want to have the driver drop him off alone everytime and since we're enrolling him at school, for sure there'll be lots of people who'll know that he's our son very soon once we start attending some school events. Keeping him close will be easier and safer once that happens, isn't it?"

Xiu Mei discussed as she pointed out the possible scenarios that may unfold in the future once Lu Qiang's name and background get discovered by the public.

Because his background is a little bit special, the public will only know Lu Chen as the father of Lu Qiang in the papers. Since they're still starting to process the adoption papers for her to adopt Lu Chen as the mother, her name still won't show up on those papers.

With Lu Qiang being his father and since the two of them were just rumored together, people would surely doubt about the little kid's origin.

Though it may or may not happen at all because the two of them will still be careful when spending time with Lu Qiang, it's still better if they already have everything planned out once these possibilities become a reality.

"That is a reasonable idea. I'll still have Lu Shao oversee his security though so that he could alert us once someone starts snooping about the kid and his relation with us."

Lu Chen was taking a dangerous bet. Since he chose to have Lu Qiang try to live a bit more normal life, he'd have to tighten up his security when he's outside. The people who killed his cousin is still out there, and they'll surely be after the little kid's life once they discover his identity.
