She was just sitting for the entire time yet she felt like her energy was drained out of her body. Her body was strangely tired and her hand was clearly out of commission as well.

An hour later after playing with her husband, Xiu Mei almost cried as she thought that her hand was almost broken by Lu Chen. The culprit in question came out of the bathroom with a hot towel in his hand and walked over to her. He rubbed and cleaned her hand carefully while Xiu Mei felt her cheeks burning in shame as she watched his actions.

Contrary to her disheveled appearance, Lu Chen looked neat and satisfied as if they didn't do something...something. He was so calm and composed that she almost doubted that the last hour was just a dream of hers. What a perverse dream, heh.

She couldn't believe it. Xiu Mei couldn't look at Lu Chen directly in the eye at all because every time she looks at him, all she could was his l.u.s.ting expression and satisfaction, along with the m.o.a.ning sounds he made while he helped her hand to play with his little Lu Chen.

Even right now, there is still the lingering burning temperature from when she was still massaging it in between her hands. The outline, the roughness...oh gawd.

He was apologetic to her because he didn't even ask her if it was alright for her to help him, at the same time, he really couldn't help himself but tease her. He paused his movements and pulled Xiu Mei into her arms the moment he saw Xiu Mei look away from him.

She was startled by him and she stiffened in his embrace. He didn't even see how Xiu Mei's face flush in embarrassment with their close contact again, recalling the shameless things they did a while ago.

Gawd, was he going to go crazy again?

But Lu Chen didn't make any move any further other than hugging her. She eventually relaxed in his arms as she hugged him by the neck.

"Wife," He uttered. "I heard you."

Xiu Mei, "...." what?

She was confused at his words. She slightly pulled away to face him directly, raising one of her brows. She tilted her hand to convey her question without using words.

Lu Chen found her confused look too cute. He lifted his hand and caressed her cheeks, a smile making its way on his face.

"I heard you," He murmured. He looked straight into her eyes as he tried to explain it further.

"Before, you…" He paused momentarily to think, wondering whether Xiu Mei will suddenly hit him for saying this because she would surely be embarrassed. He was suddenly torn because he really wanted to let her know that she made a sound for him a while ago.

Dang it, forget it. Just let his wife hit him if she wants to.

"...I heard you m.o.a.n a while ago."

And just like what he expected, Xiu Mei flushed red as she felt her cheeks burn at his statement. She couldn't stop herself from hitting him on his chest.

How can he say this to her face?! Heck, he was the one who tempted him in the first place! Didn't she m.o.a.n because he—!!! Fudge, and she really should stop remembering why she m.o.a.ned in the first place. She'll be just digging her pit even further. Ugh!

Xiu Mei glared at her husband. Lu Chen apologetically smiled as he tried to defend himself.

"Wife, that was not the point I was trying to tell you."

She squinted her eyes at him as she continued to listen to his explanation.

Lu Chen quickly explained himself and continued, "What I was trying to say was, I heard you."

He cupped bother her cheeks and repeated, "I heard your voice."

"Wife, you made a sound."

Xiu Mei blinked. Of course, she made a sound. It's not like she can't stop herself from m.o.a.ning after being turned on lik—Oh.

And it hit her.

She finally realized what Lu Chen was trying to tell her in the first place. She gasped with wide eyes, looking at him. And then she touched her neck as she looked at Lu Chen in disbelief.

"I don't know how it happened but you did it. It was just for a split second but I heard you, my wife." Lu Chen pulled her into a hug again.

"We'll get through this." He added.

Xiu Mei almost cried when he said those. Back then even if she was sometimes left alone inside the room for a few minutes, Xiu Mei didn't dare to try to speak at all. Deep within her, she felt some kind of fear that what if she suddenly couldn't speak again even if she was alone?

Even though she could make a sound right now, she was afraid that there will come a day when she'll stop speaking altogether, alone or not.

She hugged Lu Chen tighter as she buried her head in his chest.

Thank god. Thank you.

She still has hope. It was still fine for her to cling onto that ray of hope that she could speak again.

After hugging like that for a short while, Xiu Mei soon fell asleep while they were in that kind of position. Lu Chen chuckled but he still carefully laid her down on the bed beside her, pulling up the blanket to cover both of them.

"Goodnight, my wife." He murmured while staring at the sleeping figure of his wife.

His cute wife. His tolerant wife. His forgiving wife.

Before, he watched her sleeping figure like this for more than two months. He had already memorized every outline of her face, her normal breathing pattern, how many times her eyelashes would flutter in her sleep, her mouth that would part sometimes in her sleep, and other sleeping habits that she had shown him while they were in the hospital. He watched over her very closely and carefully, in case something happens to her.

At the same time, he was also regretting and repenting. That's why he apologized to her back when they were in Lu Qiang's room. Because of his carelessness, she was forced to go through all the pain again and she became like this.

"I love you." He whispered, dropping a kiss on the top of her head. After taking one last look at her peaceful expression, he slept soundly with his beloved in his arms.
