Chapter 10 - Little Qiang

Xiu Mei suddenly felt for her life. Seriously, if looks could kill, she may have long died from the dagger-like stare that the emperor CEO is exuding.

She wasn't sure if he was glaring at her or at his son but either way, both aren't good news.

On the other hand, if she didn't die from the hands of her boss, she would surely die from lack of air.

She was clearly suffocated by the tight locked hug of Lu Qiang at her neck.

'Little kiddo, I know you don't wanna go with you Dad but please don't kill me just to run away from him.' Xiu Mei thought in her heart as she tried gasping for air.

Xiu Mei finally made a decision to save her life from the hands of this two stubborn childish ice blocks.

Grabbing the arms of Little Qiang, she pulled it away and hugged him instead by locking his arms around hers. This way, she won't quickly cross the bridge of life, right?

"Boss," She coughed lightly to easily brush off on what she called him. "I can actually take care of Lu Qiang for a night,you know. I don't really mind." That's why please don't kill me. Was her words that was left unsaid.

Lu Chen looked fixedly at her watching her carry and hug his son. He could feel a little bit of frustration in his heart seeing it before he finally ignored whatever it was.

Transferring his attention to the kid, he thought deeply. This guy... he really liked Xiu Mei that he's choosing to stay at her place for the night.

He sighed inside. His stubborness is really like a Lu, really unmovable.

Lu Chen finally heeded to Lu Qiang's wishes. For now, that is.

"Fine. Only for tonight."

Lu Qiang's face bloomed like a flower in spring.

Without speaking any words, he turned his head to look at Xiu Mei's face with a beaming smile.

Xiu Mei rubbed his head in response with a gentle smile on her face.

"I will take good care of him, Mr.Lu." She spoke, lightly glancing at the side.

Lu Chen nodded immediately,his expressionless face returning.

After the two finally settled in a decision, the emperor CEO and Lu Shao finally left her place. Well, Lu Shao gave her a few pointers on what Lu Qiang could not eat and other necessary stuff.

"It's late, should we prep you to sleep?" She pinched Lu Qiang's face lightly. His face was as empty as his father though,the changes were noticeable from when they first met.

Pulling Lu Qiang to the bathroom, she helped him wash his face. She took out a new kiddie toothbrush(courtesy of her nephew), and helped him brush his teeth.

Finally, they went to bed.

"I'll read a bedtime story for you, is that okay?"

Seeing him nod, Xiu Mei opened her bedside table to pull out some of the storybooks she had hid there.

Half an hour later, Xiu Mei slowly closed the book and carefully laid it on the bedside table. Then she softly gazed at the sleeping figure of Lu Qiang.

Ah, so cute. So adorable.

Who would believe that this little kid is made by that emperor boss of hers.

It sounds like a biggest joke ever.

Even though the little kid looks like a mini Lu Chen, the little kiddo is more innocent and less cautious when expressing his emotions.

Even though little Qiang is trying to be like his father, he still couldn't grasp his sudden surge of emotions as a little kid.

That's why he's better. This is better than having you face muscles stiff all the time.

Xiu Mei gave a kiss on his forehead before slipping back into the covers to sleep beside the little kid. Gently laying down her arm on the blanket on the side of Little Qiang, she smiled.

"Goodnight, little one." She whispered as she drifted off to sleep.

Sunday.

Just like her previous weekends, Sunday rest would not even be discovered in the face of work for Xiu Mei. Not that she hates it but, she's always reminded how workaholic she was just like her boss.

As the first agenda of the day, she is to prepare breakfast for his highness, the crown prince.

Xiu Mei left the kid on the bed not before leaving a kiss in his forehead. Then she quickly took a bath before starting cooking.

Hmmm.... would bacon and eggs be fine? French Toast? or probably pancake?

Feeling undecided, she just cooked whatever she saw first on the cabinet. Which was the bread, hence, french toast it is.

To make the french toast better, she added a bit of spice on the egg and milk mixture before soaking the bread. For the final touch, confectioner's sugar.

Xiu Mei smiled like a champion seeing her work. Maybe it's better if she adds bacon, no?

Walking back to the fridge, she took out the bacon and cooked it on a fry pan.

After finishing everything, she transferred all the dishes on the table.

Xiu Mei was still in the middle of preparing the fork and knife when a bullet like thing crashed onto her body that almost propelled her towards the kitchen counter and almost dropped the things she was holding.

She peeked below to see who the bullet was and instead of getting mad, her heart softened even more like a jelly.

It was Lu Quang hugging her leg so tightly.

"Goodmorning, little one." Giving a mother-like smile at him, she rubbed her head.

Lu Qiang then raised his head and stared at her, his eyes almost watery.

"Mom."

BLAG! CRASH!

Uh....yeah. That was the sound of the glasses breaking.
