Chapter 99 - Whom would she choose?

Jing Lihua of the past had been too young and naive. Someone whose people loved to take advantage of. Jing Lihua of the present was a shrewd woman. She could judge a person by a single glance.

And in her view, Wu Xiuqin wasn't a good person. A hypocrite to be right. Jing Lihua had already paid for what she had owed her by not taking revenge on Wu Junjie for separating them. As for what had happened to Wu Xiuqin's hands, it was only her brother to blame for it.

That day Wu Xiuqin was supposed to be attending a celebration party for winning an award. So it was supposed to be Jing Lihua alone in the penthouse. She was alone supposed to die.

Jing Lihua turned. Watching Li Zhiqiang standing at the door, she smiled. She walked to him and grabbed his arm. She looked at him with great affection in her eyes. Li Zhiqiang was shocked at her totally 'different' response. "Li Zhiqiang you are here?" Wang Yi must have been able to contact Li Zhiqiang in time. "I asked Wang Yi to contact you. We will be leaving for Beijing so I thought it would be only appropriate if we gave Wu Xiuqi a visit."

Wu Xiuqin. With a puzzled look, Li Zhiqiang glanced at Jing Lihua. "You remember everything? Are you not mad at me?" His voice was low.

"Why should I be?" Jing Lihua smiled at him sweetly. She hugged his arm tightly and looked at the pair of stupified sisters with a calm smile.

Li Zhiqiang understood what she intended to do. His lips curled up. "God, I love this 'new' you." Instead of being jealous or angry at him, Jing Lihua was showing them that he belonged to her. That he was hers and they shouldn't dare to think about stealing him. If it was Jing Lihua of the past, she wouldn't have ever done that. The Jing Lihua of the past was too demure to behave that way.

"Just earlier now Wu Ying had been telling us how the club manager had been trying to flatter her. She even said that he would ask the security to have me thrown out. I just came here to greet them. How rude o her to say that." Jing Lihua made a sad face and stealthily winked at Li Zhiqiang.

On the other side, Wu Ying was horrified. She didn't have any idea what to say. She could never have expected the 'Devil; to appear suddenly. Not in a hundred lifetimes, she would dare to offend him

Li Zhiqiang frowned when he saw Jing Lihua wink. He quickly understood what she wanted and hid his smile. Instead, he made a very serious face. "Did she really say that to you?" Li Zhiqiang feigned a suspicious face.

Wu Ying saw an opening in Li Zhiqiang's suspicion. Wu Ying assumed that Li Zhiqiang hadn't heard her say those words to Jing Lihua. So if she denied it, not only would make Li Zhqiinag dislike Jing Lihua for lying, it would also clear Wu Ying's name. "Why are you lying Jing Lihua? I understand you don't like us but why do you have to lie? I just asked you to be a little polite when you said mean things to my sister." Wu Ying looked like she was being wronged.

"Elder sister stop..." Wu Xiuqin understood what was happening. She knew that Li Zhiqiang had been standing outside all that time. She wanted to stop her sister from falling into their trap but Jing Lihua wasn't going to give her that chance.

Jing Lihua gasped as if she was shocked. "Didn't you also say that you will have the club manager to do some bad things to me in order to entertain you and your sister?" She once again made a vulnerable, sad face as she nudged closer to Li Zhiqiang as if seeking comfort for being bullied. "I was scared. What if Li Zhiqiang hadn't come here in time? You would have done those things to me." She sobbed. "You said that it would make Li Zhiqiang abandon me if these people t-touched me. Li Zhiqiang would you abandon me if something like that happened?"

Was she scared? Not a bit! Instead, she was scaring Wu Ying! Wu Ying was so astonished at how could someone change this much that she temporarily forgot to notice the look on Li Zhiqiang's face.

"I would never abandon you. I would make him pay a thousand times who dares to have any ill intentions towards you." Li Zhiqiang's face darkened. Even though he knew Jing Lihua was acting, he couldn't ignore that someone dared to say such things to his precious Jing Jing.

Wu Ying felt a sudden cold. When she had said that she had kept her words ambiguous. But Jing Lihua opened it all. "Stop accusing me wrongly Jing Lihua. I never said anything of this sort! What kind of woman do you think I am? President Li knows best about my character. He knows I would never say anything like this! Why are you making a fool of yourself by saying such nonsense! No one is going to believe you!"

"Are you saying I'm lying?" Jing Lihua's eyes were watery.

Wu Xiuqin quickly went to Wu Ying's side and quietly. "Please stop sister. Admit your fault." Wu Xiuqin could clearly see what was happening.

"Of course you are lying!." Wu Ying ignored Wu Xiuqin's pleading. "Tell them, Wu Xiuqin. I never said any such thing. Tell them she is lying." Wu Ying faced her sister and laughed inwardly. When two people would say that Jing Lihua was lying the more reasonable thing to do would be to believe them. She believed that Li Zhiqiang would trust the words of two people than Jing Lihua alone.

She considered herself already have won.

"Tell us Wu Xiuqin. Whatever you say, we will believe." Even Jing Lihua gave her consent. It was what she had wanted to do from the very beginning. She had Wu Xiuqin cornered. "Did your sister not say all those things to me?"

Everyone looked at Wu Xiuqin. Wu Xiuqin knew Li Zhiqiang had been standing outside all the time and knew everything. It was why she hadn't said anything bad to Jing Lihua all that time.

Now if she said her sister said that, she would be betraying her sister. The sisters' relationship would suffer. If she didn't say that, though she would save sisters's relationship, she would get Li Zhiqiang to hate her forever.

Wu Xiuqin fists tightened and she looked at Jing Lihua with cold anger in her eyes. She forced herself to smile.
