Chapter 58 - A setup

Just as the glass was about to touch her lips, it slipped from Zhao Liying hands, hit the floor and smashed into pieces. Luckily the place where they were standing, was not crowded and the music was still on in the background so no one noticed.

"I'm so sorry" Zhao Liying stepped back with wide eyes.

Yang Mi looked like she was about to cry. She had used up all the drug given by Su Lanfen manager and put it on that glass. With a face full of helplessness and despair, she walked away without even looking at Zhao Liying. Under the desperation, she shed the mask of kindness.

"You could have just declined the drink."

"That would have been impolite." Zhao Liying grinned and followed behind Yang Mi. With an amused face, Jing Lihua's also followed her out of the Hall. At a distance, Zhao Liying caught up Yang Mi.

"Yang Mi, you made the right decision" Zhao Liying stopped her.

"I know they have been hard on you. But trust me I'll never let Su Lanfen company hurt you. You have proven your worth to us to put your safety aside for the sake of me and my company and went into their territory. Our company will never forget your sacrifice and provide you with the best compensation." With sheer sincerity in her eyes, Zhao Liying said those words and left Yang Mi befuddled. Her acting was top notch. Yang Mi, who was already at the brink of a nervous breakdown, could not possibly understand Zhao Liying's intentions.

But when she saw Zhao Liying rolling in money and enjoying such a famed status, she could not stop the envy from appearing in her heart. Over the years, this envy acc.u.mulated into deep hatred and resentment. So when Su Lanfen had contacted her with such a glorious offer, her heart was filled with joy.

At first, she didn't want to betray Zhao Liying. After all, Zhao Liying always treated her like a sister. But later, her greed won. So what if Zhao Lying treated her good? She could never be in the same status as her. She was just a mere artist. So she accepted. First, they asked to do small things. In fact, Zhao Liying's scandal was also made possible with her help.

Zhao Liying walked back to Jing Lihua. Her best friend was evil.

"When did you know?" Zhao Liying followed her back into the Hall.
