Chapter 206: Awaiting a precious gift

Heng Huizhong's expressions changed once he saw the identity of the caller. "I must attend this. This is important." Still unaware of what tragic news rested ahead for them, Heng Huizhong made his way out of the lounge.

"Lady Lang, did you see Mr. Heng's expressions right now? I am certain he was considering his actions of treating you unfairly all the time before." Lang Lan female attendant immediately rushed to her side and said enthusiastically.

"I also felt so." Lang Lan smiled in satisfaction.

It was not unusual for the Mistress of rich families to keep one or two such female attendants to keep them company.

"Just now, I purposely chose this moment to inform him about Lang Yufan's activities. Knowing my husband, he would feel indebted to them and the feud between Heng Huizhong and my family can finally be resolved." There was an abstruse disdain in her gaze. Men are so easy to manipulate.

But nevermind, Lang Lan was in a good mood. She had suffered a lot in the past few days by the hands of Heng Huizhong. To this happy change, she could not help but welcome it with open arms.

"Lady Lang, you are brilliant." Her female attendant had seen how her Mistress had tactfully handled the situation. There were feelings of admiration in her heart. "How about this? I arrange for a small banquet to celebrate Lady success!" She eagerly suggested.

Lang Lan pondered over it. Then nodded her head in agreement. "Nice suggestion. Do note to invite a few close friends of mine. But make sure to keep everything discreet. We are supposed to be in a state of crisis. If Heng Huizhong finds out that we are celebrating, it would be difficult to resolve. All my efforts would go in vain." Lang Lan sighed.

"Then...I would go and make the preparations!" The female attendant happily rushed out and made a list of guests to be invited.

After some time when Heng Huizhong didn't come back to the lounge, Lang Lan's heart felt uneasy. When she asked around the servants, it turned out he had left the manor. She dialed him up but his phone was constantly going busy.

"Lady Lang, do not worry. I am certain Mr. Heng has left to buy something for you to make up for all the time he had treated you unfairly." Her female attended suggested.

"Jin Ming is right." The second female attendant said. "Just before Mr. Heng left to attend the call, his expressions looked fairly conflicted. Also, who could it be on the call that was more important than this issue right now? I am certain that call was just an excuse Mr. Heng used to escape Lady's eyes and prepare a surprise for her."

Under the persuasion of two females attendants, Lang Lan's expressions eased. "You make sense." She even felt a surge

of excitement for whatever surprise Heng Huizhong was going to prepare for her. "Since this time he has treated me unfairly for so long, I am not going to give in for some cheap gift."

"Lady Lang, don't worry. Mr. Heng requires Young Master Lang's help in the future. He would make sure to gift something precious to make Lady Lang happy!"

Heng Huizhong might be easy to persuade. But to tempt her own family into taking a stand against Jing Lihua had been a difficult drill for her. 

But the contract disclosure had left Lang family with no choice but to go against Heng Bingwen supporter Jing Lihua. 

She did not care if her family suffered. As long as her position in the Heng household remained strong enough, she did not care for anything else. Her Lang family was important for her because they backed her with their influence in society.

Lang Lan snickered. "But after suffering by Heng Bingwen hands, at least they were prompted to take action against him. Things worked out well for me in the end. Look at this! Heng Huizhong has already gone the old way he used to be and went to buy something for me."

The evening arrived yet there was no sign of Heng Huizhong. But Lang Lan was not worried. The more time passed, she felt like the grander the surprise Heng Huizhong must be preparing for her.

At that time, her friends had already started gathering in the Manor.

Her attendants had arranged for a Barbeque at the gathering. A slightly famous boy band was also invited. The lawn of the splendid Manor looked rather lively. 

"What is the occasion?" asked one of Lang Lan girlfriends.

"Nothing. Couldn't I throw a small party just for chatting around with my friends?"

"Stop joking Lang Lan. For the last few weeks, you have been avoiding parties and social events. Do you even know? The engagement party of the Second Son of the Gu family is to be held not a week later. You had been such a fast friend with the Mistress of the Gu family. We were actually worried if you would be able to attend or not."

How could they know that during the last few weeks, Lang Lan had continuously avoided such events to accompany her husband as much as she could do and pacify him all the time?

"Lady Lang threw this party because she wanted to celebrate. Mr. Heng is going to stage something big for Lady Lang." Jin Ming giggled as she whispered.

"Hush it, Jin Ming." Lang Lan pretended to be shy. In reality, she wanted to show off this to her friends. Her attendant understood this and hence had purposely leaked out this detail.

As expected, after Jin Ming's revelation, gazes of envy were directed in La

ng Lan's direction. "Lang Lan, you are very fortunate. Your husband still dotes on you. Normally at this age, husbands are no longer passionate and affectionate."

"So right. Most of us are already hopeless as our husbands have several young mistresses. The only reasons our marriages are sound are because of our family backgrounds and children. Yet, Mr. Heng not only is loyal he also dotes on you a lot."

"I can only thank heavens for gifting me with such a nice husband." Lang Lan laughed, she was in a very good mood.

At that point, her 'nice' husband finally returned home. However, what he brought with himself was not some precious gift but his livid face.
