Chapter 197: Shaken to the core

In the luxurious private room of the high-end club, a man sat leisurely over the couch. Dressed in formal business attire, his long arm rested over the armrest while his other hand held onto an exquisite vine glass. His cool gaze was fixed at the two persons who had just entered the room. Through his icy expressions, he looked akin to a devil ready to pass his ruthless judgment at the two intruders. There was something very intense in is aura. Something unable to be comprehended in words.

"Li Zhiqiang!" Jing Lihua immediately rushed to the Devil's side and pounced at him, engulfing him into her big bear hug.

She had always been so. After an interval of separation from him, she had never been able to calm down her emotions and would jump into his arms with no reserve.

That 'Devil' expressions changed slightly when a delicate creature landed into his arms. He slowly put back the glass over the table. He put his arms around her slender waist and pulled her into him. A second later, his gaze softened.

What more so? Even a gentle smile made its way onto his face!

The man who looked like he could freeze a damn volcano with his mere gaze a second ago...was now...was now emitting a gentle and warm glow.

Just like that devil who oppressed his surroundings a minute ago was replaced with a smiling Prince Charming.

"Huh? You came here in a hurry? Didn't even change out of your formal attire." Jing Lihua complained.

"Li Xun said that this attire would leave a more profound effect."

"Eh...?" Jing Lihua was puzzled.

She couldn't understand this weird logic.

However, the pale Lang Yufan standing at the door, frozen to his core was the one who suffered the true depth of this action.

"Oh, right!" Jing Lihua recalled. "Li Zhiqiang, meet Lang Yufan. He is a friend from my school days!" Jing Lihua introduced. A moment earlier, she was so excited to see Li Zhiqiang that she had almost forgotten about Lang Yufan.

While still in Li Zhiqiang arms, she turned her face and glanced at Lang Yufan who still stood frozen at the entrance. She was slightly surprised to see the state Lang Yufan in. 

"J-Jing Lihua, by any chance, is President Li your fiance?" Lang Yufan gathered all the courage he could muster to say those words. His originally charming and confident voice had been reduced to a pathetic squeaky tone.

The moment Lang Yufan had stepped into this room, he had immediately recognized that fearsome man. Li Zhiqiang was usually a private person. So his face was not a familiar figure on the media. It a the very reason Jing Lihua had failed to recognize him in the beginning.

However, Lang Yufan was a man of knowledge. Ever since that 'Devil' had shown up in Beijing, Lang Yufan had been

following his activities.

True, Lang Yufan was aware of the collaboration between the Tang enterprise and him. In the beginning, he was reluctant to go against Jing Lihua in fear of that fearsome President Li. 

But when Lang Yufan had appeared at Su Donghai's place, Su Donghai had shown him the draft of the leaked contract. As the 'Li' family was known to value loyalty over everything, once the draft was leaked, they would definitely turn against Jing Lihua. 

So he was certain that the collaboration between them would come to an end and Tang enterprise would suffer a lot in the future.

In was the very reason he was willing to stand against Jing Lihua in the first place.

However, about this bizarre occurrence, he could not have imagined even in his wildest dream!

"Huh? Do you know my fiance? Could it be Mr. Lang has made an acquaintance with him on an earlier occasion?" Jing Lihua asked eagerly.

The last glimmer of hope in Lang Yufan was ruthlessly snatched away just like that.

Jing Lihua's acknowledgment was akin to a big bomb dropped into Lang Yufan's mind. He felt like ice seeped into his bones and his consciousness exploded into small fragments unable to be put together again.

"Brother Lang, are you alright?" She said, alternating to the tender way of addressing considering the pitiful state Lang Yufan appeared to be in. He was already so pale, she should be nicer to him, right? With a smile, she continued. "Why are you still standing at the door? Come in please!"

"Brother Lang?" Li Zhiqiang frowned with displeasure.

At the entrance, Lang Yufan whose head was already blank from the sudden boom quickly snapped out noticing the changing expressions of that Devil!

What the heck!

What was up with this woman?! Did she want him to die?!

When he had tried so hard to get her to address him in a non-formal way, she had continued to call use the formal way. Now that, in front of that fire seething demon, she called him Brother? What the hell she wanted to achieve?!

"Lihua Jie, I apologize. I was just surprised." He choked, immediately alternating the way of addressing her.

What was calling her Sister?! Now he would even go to the Civil relationship Hall and register her as his legal sister if he had to placate that Devil!

With a very unnatural complexion, he forced his stiff legs to take him to one of the couch in front of that scary couple. "P-President Li, this is truly...unexpected." When a domineering silence befell, Lang Yufan forced his bitter tongue to say something.

This man was truly scary!

Lang Yufan could not begin to state the number of fearsome things he had heard this 'Devil' had done. As someone who kept an eye on these things, he was far more aware of this man's approach. He daresay he was even more aware than Jing Lihua.

"You do not need to fret. If you are Jing Lihua's friend, you are my friend. However, if you are not..." That Devil's cold voice landed on his ears jolting him up.

The Devil's declaration only blew away the little bit of remaining blood that was left on Lang Yufan's face.
