Chapter 164: President has been acting strange

"President, why are you not working in your office..." Mei Xiu asked, sounding utterly confused. Her President had been acting really strangely for the last few days. 

Like she had picked up all the files from her office and rushed to the side office that had originally belonged to Mei Xi but was mostly unused.

"My office feels so stuffy. I can't focus." Jing Lihua gave whatever excuse came to her mind while rubbing her nose. "Am I inconveniencing you?"

"It's not that President..."

However Mei Xiu found it wise not to ask. For some reason, she felt like it was best if the President's strange state would be left unquestioned.

Mei Xu heard a shuffling from the President's side. She had received a notification on her personal phone. Distracted, she picked up her phone. Her eyes were still unfocused but just as they fell upon the screen, she gasped.

"President! What happened? Are you alright?" Mei Xiu immediately rushed to her side. "Why is your face burning like this? Are you having a fever? Should I call our company's doctor?" Mei Xiu was really worried about her President.

"It's nothing just... take this phone far away from me! Far, far away!" Her President treated her phone like it was Su Enterprise.

Mei Xiu: "..."

Just what in the hell is happening?

Her President who used to be calm as still water under the pressure of her greatest enemies, how could she suddenly succumb to such a state?

What great enemy she had encountered this time that had forced her to behave like that?

Who in the world is capable of forcing her revered President into a corner like this?

Mei Xiu thought the matter was rather suspicious. Grabbing President's phone, Mei Xiu rushed out. After getting out, she immediately dialed a number.

"Xiu Jie?"

"Bingwen, do you have any idea just what the hell happened to our President?" Mei Xiu directly asked.

From the other line, silence followed. She heard Heng Bingwen gulp silently.

"Bingwen? Hello Are you there...?"

"Yes..."

"Why are you also acting strange now?"

Because that very graphic and unholy image of our revered President being fiercely ravaged by that-that Devil hasn't been able to get out of my head...

She had been avoiding him like plaque for the last couple of days. Luckily, he had been busy dealing with Dry Creek Fields in the Southern districts. So he hadn't found enough time to torture her.

"So you are leaving tonight?"

Jing Lihua could feel a trace of lingering sadness from that message. She sighed. 

"It's not like I'm leaving for once and for all. I will be back in a week's time."

"Even a second apart from you feels like a millennium to me."

"Only for my little JingJing" His message followed a winking emotes.

Even such a small gesture from him would make her heart throb. 

This man is surely using some satanic witchcraft. How can he influence me so profoundly?

Jing Lihua previously wanted to give him a visit before leaving. But knowing him, he would once again end up doing something like he did in her office.

Before leaving, Jing Lihua had a brief chat with Mei Xiu. Since Heng Bingwen had been avoiding her, she relayed the words she wanted for him through Mei Xiu.

At nightfall, she called for Wang Yi. Getting into the car, they immediately sped for the city's airport.
