Chapter 130 - Special Spice

Li Zhiqiang stared at her. Her expressions were very serious. Whatever she had said seemed to hold importance in his heart.

"Whether I appeared or not, Jing Lihua if I knew you were in trouble, I would have abandoned everything just to be by your side." His eyes held unparalleled sincerity as he replied to her.

Jing Lihua continued to stare into his eyes. It was not until the white cat jumped out of her arms, suffocated with the heavy coat that they both broke out of the trance.

The cat landed on the ground and mewed angrily at Li Zhiqiang.

Looking at that Jing Lihua laughed. "We totally forgot about her." She went on her knees and patted the cat. "Be good. And you will get the treat I promised."

An old uncle walked up to them gleefully. "Xiao Jing? Is it really you? How long had been since you visited me? I almost thought you forgot about this old uncle." The man looked like he had come from a village. His manner and way of speech were simple and straightforward. He didn't even know who Jing Lihua was. He simply knew her as Xiao Jing. "You have even brought a guy. Now, who might this be. Your boyfriend?" He teased her in his own manner.

Jing Lihua smiled: "Uncle we are here for a competition. You know the same with my other friends."

"I get it! I will bring two servings right away!"

Jing Lihua guided Li Zhiqiang to sit in the open air. "You haven't ever been to a place like this before, have you?" She challenged.

"I haven't. But being with you makes it worth it." He winked at Jing Lihua. Meanwhile, Jing Lihua put the cat's treat in the bowl. The cat jumped around and feasted on it gleefully.

"You are going to spoil her."

"Are you being jealous of her again?" Jing Lihua shook her head.

"How can you imagine I would be jealous of a pet? So ridiculous." Li Zhiqiang would never admit.

"Whatever you say." Jing Lihua prepared herself as the two servings of uncle's special noodles were brought in. She opened her chopsticks and shot Li Ziqiang a challenging stare.

Li Zhiqiang was confident and returned her stare with his smug face. However, this time when Li Zhiqiang put the first thing in his mouth, his tongue burned and he quickly spat it out. "How is anyone supposed to eat this?"

"Don't overreact. Uncle uses a special type of spice he brings from his village. It is delicious." Jing Lihua already looked smug. "And of course, I can hold this one better than anyone." Jing Lihua had an obvious advantage here. She had a lot of practice with Zhao Liying and Mo Liang before.

"You tricked me." Li Zhiqiang couldn't believe his Jing Jing could be this cunning and cruel. Jing Lihua grinned at him.

"Does that mean you give up already?"

"Don't be too happy with yourself. I was just surprised with the first taste." Li Ziqiang wasn't born to accept defeat. Especially now that he was challenged so openly.

"Don't be too hard on yourself. We don't want you to end in the hospital, do we? That would be so embarrassing. Just imagine the headlines. The heir of Li Empire, The great 'Devil' ended up in the hospital in Beijing due to spice overdose." Jing Lihua laughed and initiated her dinner effortlessly. Her ears turned but that couldn't stop her. Instead, she seemed to be enjoying it.

Looking at that, Li Ziqiang's heart fell. When he looked at the bowl, his stomach objected with a low grumble. "I'm not losing to you!" He grumbled and started putting big masses into his mouth.

And so the battle started.

It was a piece of cake for Jing Lihua. She ended her bowl ten minutes before Li Zhiqiang. His eyes were watering, his nose was flowing. His face was a red tomato right now. Looking at her smug face, Li Zhiqiang steeled his hard and ate till the last sip. Finally done, he put down the bowl on the table with a loud thump. "You don't win." He was gasping.

"Who says?' Jing Lihua raised her eyebrow. She clapped and the uncle came running with two bowls full and brimming with his spicy soup.

Jing Lihua laughed. "Uncle, make sure to keep ready the third serving. My friend here has a huge appetite." Jing Lihua wasn't going to let Li Zhiqiang off today. After days, she had finally gotten a chance to enact her revenge. He hadn't been easy on her all those times previously no matter how much she begged.

When a new bowl was placed in front of Li Zhiqiang, with trembling fingers he picked up the chopsticks.

"Delicious, isn't it? I can't stop eating." Jing Lihua didn't wait for a little to feast on the noodles soup.

Looking at her Li Zhiqiang's face turned green. He forced himself to eat.

'Come on give up already' Jing Lihua prayed in her heart. Was this man's stomach made of steel or what? He was obviously close to vomiting. Why was he forcing himself then? Was losing to her so difficult for him?

Of course, Jing Lihua didn't have this much of spice as in Li Zhiqiang bowl. She and the stall uncle had a bit of mutual understanding. They decided to add something 'extra' in Li Zhiqiang's bowl.

But you couldn't blame her for being unfair! While competing with a God, how else she was supposed to win other than doing a little cheating? Yes, she only cheated only a little! Her bowl also had a fair amount of spice in it.

But Li Zhiqiang bowl had uncle's special formula.

Finally, Li Zhiqiang couldn't take it. Grabbing his stomach, he rushed to a side to empty out everything while Jing Lihua was rolling with laughter on her chair. After quite some time, Li Zhiqiang returned with glum expressions.

"Well, that decides one thing." Jing Lihua put down her bowl. "Don't look so sad. You had been winning all this time. One should taste failure at least once to enjoy the success at its fullest." Jing Lihua shrugged. She didn't feel good about cheating but she had to win today for a reason.

"Now that I have won, you would agree to one of my requests." Gradually, her face fell becoming serious.
