Chapter 124 - Cunning smiles

"Su Jiayi." Jing Lihua paused in her steps. She was surprised. "What is she doing here? I'm not going to believe this is a mere coincidence."

In this lifetime, this was the first time Jing Lihua saw her. But she recalled her very vibrantly from her last lifetime. And only one word was enough to describe their relationship. "Arch Enemies." Su Jiayi stopped her. "Why so hurry. We have just met after so long. Wouldn't you want to sit and hang out?" The Su Jiayi's act was astute. Jing Lihua scoffed inwardly. She thought: this family was so good at acting. They might as well all join the career.

Jing tried her best to be polite. "Sister-in-law, I have someone very important waiting up for me here."

"Someone important? Are you sure you are not trying to make up an excuse to get away from me?" There was a blatant taunt in Su Jiayi's eyes. This area was one of the most expensive places in most mainland china. To merely be here, required an invite from someone. Jing Lihua frowned and stepped back a little, hugging the cat tighter. "I wouldn't need an excuse to get away from you." She understood the mock in Su Jiayi words but it didn't affect her. It didn't matter to Jing Lihua what Su Jiayi thought of her. In any way, the person waiting for her as very important.

Her words shocked Su Jiayi but she quickly composed. "Now, dear sister-in-law, you are like a sister I never had. Don't be angry at me." Su Jiayi was very polite. God knew what horrible thing she was planning to be so polite to Jing Lihua. "Is it because of Su Lanfen that you sound offended? I apologize on her behalf. That girl is too impulsive and has a lot of insecurities. It was obviously her who was in the wrong. She had been given appropriate punishment by her father and sent aboard if that eases your heart."

"Sent aboard?" Jing Lihua frowned. "Jiayi dear, you don't have to be so polite." Madame Bao laughed then she looked at Jing Lihua. Her calm yet cunning smile was still there. She winked at Jing Lihua and said. "And who might this pretty lady be?" She smiled at her like she was seeing her for the first time.

Jing Lihua didn't know what to think anymore. Her brain had undergone a short circuit. Everything looked so bizarre. Looking at Jing Lihua's shocked expression, Su Jiayi was very satisfied. 'You wouldn't have guessed I had made an acquaintance with such an important person, would you?' She assumed Jing Lihua was shocked because of her friendship to Madame Bao; the mother of the great rumored 'Devil'.

But Jing Lihua was worried about something entirely opposite. 'Does that mean Madame Bao already knows that I am married?' This is wrong. Through her eyes, Jing Lihua pleaded to Madame Bao. 'Please don't kill the Su family.' But her pleases were, of course, fruitless.

"This is my sister-in-law, Jing Lihua Madame Bao. I'm sorry for her lack of manners. She must be too shocked to see you here." Su Jiayi laughed at Jing Lihua stunned expressions.

Su Jiayi has expected Madame Bao to reject taking Jing Lihua in. After all, Madame Bao was said to be very picky about choosing the people. And she wouldn't definitely pick up Jing Lihua after Su Jiayi badmouthed her in front of Madame Bao.

Thinking about it Su Jiayi laughed inwardly imagining the imminent embarrassment Jing Lihua would have to suffer.
