Chapter 108 - A little kitten

The next second, the lights were back. Jing Lihua blinked and was too stunned to look anywhere when a pair of arms reached out and pulled her back. "You are too daring. When a woman senses someone in her home this late at night, the first thing she should do is run for help."

In his arms, Jing Lihua looked up and smiled. "If I had run, your plan had been ruined."

"What plan?" Li Zhiqiang acted innocent.

Jing Lihua pointed into the bedroom. "What are you hiding? I know there is also someone else in the room." He had purposely obscured her vision by pulling her back when the lights were back. And it must have been him who had turned them off in the first place.

Li Zhiqiang sighed. "Why is it difficult to hide something from you?"

"There is someone!" Jing Lihua wasn't sure first. "Thanks for confirming!"

Jing Lihua ran into the bedroom then paused. Inside the room, there was no one. "Why is there no one?" Jing Lihua heard Li Zhiqiang walking into the room behind her. She had quizzical expressions as she looked around.

Her eyes fell onto a shaking packaged box on her bed. The noise was coming from within it. Without waiting for Li Zhiqiang, she climbed into the bed and opened the roughly packed box. Li Zhiqiang walked into the room and stood beside the bed. Looking at her so eagerly opening the box like a kid would his Christmas gift, he shook his head. "Easy, you do not want to provoke her. She is not very nice if provoked."

"Her?" Jing Lihua was even more excited. With both hands, she picked out a white fluffy thing out of the box. Its marble green eyes stared straight right into Jing Lihua's eyes. "This is..." Jing Lihua was at the loss of words.

"I know right. Her eyes are just like yours. That's why I chose her. I thought you would like her." Li Zhiqiang was anxiously impatient to see Jing Lihua's reaction.

Her eyes resemblance was not what Jing Lihua was thinking about. The furry thing squirmed in Jing Lihua's hands and jumped away. She fixed her claws into the bedsheet and snarled at Jing Lihua as if angry for being treated trivially. Jing Lihua laughed at the cute reaction. She reached out her hand to pat her.

"Don't be hasty. They said she is a difficult one. She might not like if you touch her before knowing her well."

Li Zhiqiang saw Jing Lihua reaching out her hand nevertheless. The cat tried to avoid her and jumped to another spot on the bed. But Jing Lihua didn't give up. Her hand followed her movements and in the end, she succeeded in patting her. "I'm your new master, you should be good to me." The cat assented to her touch with a low meow. "She is feral" Jing Lihua laughed. "Yet cute. What is her name?" As if pleased at being praised, the cat shed her guard and actively jumped into Jing Lihua's lap.

Jing Lihua felt like her heart was melting. "I have always wanted a cat. I had been so busy to plan about getting one. I can't thank you enough!" She hugged the cat.

"It has no name yet. How about you name it?" Li Zhiqiang got onto the bed and wanted to join the hug but just as he reached out his arms the cat snarled at him. he stopped.

"Looks like she doesn't like you." Jing Lihua patted the cat to ease her.

"Why would she even like me? I had stuffed her into the box for you." Li Ziqiang grumbled.

"You really didn't need to do that. Why would you do that when she was unwilling? Poor kitty. She is right. I'm with her on this." She hugged her tightly and glared at him.

Li Zhiqiang: "..." He had a bad feeling.

Jing Lihua noticed his strange expressions. "Don't worry. I won't ignore you. After all, you brought her to me. You'll always be the first." She kissed his cheek and picking up the cat, walked out. "Let's go. The soup will get cold."

Li Zhiqiang stayed at the bed for a long time. "You really need to stop doing that before you are completely mine." Jing Lihua didn't really know the effect she had on Li Zhiqiang. That how a slight peck on the cheek made him feel.

Jing Lihua played with the cat on the couch while Li Zhiqiang had the soup, grumpily. Unlike Jing Lihua had expected, the spice in the soup wasn't even noticed by him. He was too unhappy to even notice that.

"Don't look so sad." Jing Lihua couldn't help but laugh at his reaction. He was just acting like kids.

"I wanted to take you out and you already had dinner without me. It seems like you are not fulfilling your promise. Then I'll have no choice but to have you move in with me."

"Don't dare act smart with me. You are sitting right beside me, spending time with me. Besides how long has it been since we last met? No more than six hours. Why are you acting like a nagging wife." Jing Lihua didn't know what to do with him. She had purposely brought the soup today for Li Zhiqiang to avoid going out. In Beijing city, people knew her. And she was still married. Until she wasn't divorced, she couldn't be seen with Li Zhiqiang. She didn't want to create rumors.

"Are you scared of people?"

Jing Lihua: "..." She forgot he could read thoughts and let her face reveal her inner thoughts.

"As long as I'm here you do not need to fear anyone. Anyone who dares to taint your name wouldn't see the light of the day again. You can always rely on me."

She didn't want to rely on anyone. But she didn't anything, just played with the little paw of the cat. Later that night, Jing Lihua had hoped to have a good night's peaceful sleep alone but Li Zhiqiang had other plans.
