Chapter 105 - There is nothing to talk about

Inside the room, Xu Baozhai was kneeling down in front of a woman. Her hands were trembling and she kept on begging. "Madame Lang, please forgive my Bingwen if he did something to offend you or Mr. Heng. He is just a kid. He doesn't understand. I'll do my best to stop him once he comes back from Hong kong. I'll give him a good beating. He'll never do something like this again."

"Six years ago I let you, mother and son pair, leave out of the pity of my heart. Now, I regret my decision." Lang Lan glanced at the woman at her feet with disgruntled expressions. Xu Baozhao was the same age as Lang Lan but she looked younger and still more beautiful than her age. Even though it had been so many years and Lang Lan attended so many spas and salons to keep her appearance, one couldn't counter the natural beauty.

"Should we beat her Madam Lang?" A man said. There were three bulky men holding rods.

"It is not necessary. I'm not that of a vulgar woman. If she understands by my words, there is no need to use violence." Lang Lan waved her hand. "Besides I can not witness violence. You can teach her the lesson once I leave."

"Madame Lang, your worry is baseless. There would be no way my Bingwen think about laying any sort of claim on the inheritance of the elder Heng. We are both content with our lives. We do not want anything else. We just want to be left alone." Xu BaoZhaoo kept her head low to show her reverence. This woman had already once made their life a living hell. She didn't want the history to repeat.

"Silence. Do not pretend that you do not know anything. It must have been you who was behind all the planning. Your son is still a child. He can't think of such complex things. He had contacted your family in Hong Kong and wanted their help to get to the elder Heng's hearing." Lang Lan laughed. "But your family is just a bunch of cowards. Not only they declined him any help but they also informed us to stay out of trouble."

Xu Baozhai was startled. Heng Bingwen had told her that he had gone to Hong Kong to accompany his President. "That stupid kid." Once he returned home, Xu Baozhai would surely give him a lot of beating to straighten his rebellious mind. 'I've told him countless times about the nature of our family. Yet he still defied me and contacted them? And he didn't even care about informing me.'

"But let me tell you if, either you or your useless bastard of a son, appears on the day of inheritance hearing I'll not let you two walk out alive. I've been merciful enough with you two these past years."

Suddenly something flicked in Xu Baozhai's eyes. "Say whatever you want about me. But Madame please do not say anything about my son. He is not a bastard." Xu Baozhai was a mother. She would do anything for her son. If not for her son, she wouldn't ever bend in front of Lang Lan. That was the true strength. A true strength of the mother.

"Why must I not? He is a bastard. He has no future. Even if he thinks about creating one, I'll make sure to cripple him of any opportunities for the rest of his life. You can't do anything. You two both are like pathetic insects in front of our eyes. We can crush you at any moment. Heng Huang abandoned you and your son for me. Your family disowned you. You two have nothing."

"I was married to Heng Huang when you got into my husband's bed and had yourself pregnant!" Lang Lan was outraged. "Whatever you do you can't change this fact and everybody knows about your dirty deeds."

Lang Lan was agitated. Because she couldn't deny anything Xu Baozhai said. She laughed. "Beat that vixen till she can't stand anymore!"

The men cornered Xu Baozhai. There was no fear in Xu Baozhai's eyes. Jing Lihua waited outside for a long time. "Come on. You can easily handle these three men on your own. You were the one who taught me martial arts in my last life. There is no way these three thickheads pose any sort of threat to you. Are you intentionally going to suffer for your son's sake?" If Lang Lan failed to get Xu Baozhai today she would go for Heng Bingwen next time to hurt Xu Baozhai.

Jing Liha sighed. It seemed Xu Baozhai was not going to defend herself. She walked into the apartment. "Stop right now." Her voice was not loud yet strong. She assumed the cold, expressionless demeanor she had especially for her enemies.

"And who are you to barge in like this? Some punny neighbor? Listen, woman, it would be best for you if you didn't interfere. Otherwise, we wouldn't hesitate to beat another person." A man threatened but Jing Lihua didn't stop. She quietly walked to Xu Baozhai's side. She gave her her hand and helped her to feet.

The man looked at his madam for direction but he was stopped to see her startled expressions.

"Those green eyes... You re Jing Lihua?" Lang Lan said unsurely.

"Having an alone woman corned and beaten by scoundrels. How unexpected of the kindhearted and charitable Madam Lan of the Beijing. My eyes are opened today." Jing Lihua's eyes were full of contempt and disdain. "And to say that I used to admire you because of your philanthropy actions in the past." Of course, Jing Lihua didn't.

"This is not what it looks like." Dammit! Why in the heavens name would that woman appear here right now? Even her husband didn't know she used to threaten his ex-wife. If the secret was blown, she would be ruined. "How about we sit and talk about it?" Lang Lan very politely asked.

"There is nothing to talk. I've heard everything I had to." Jing Lihua denied outrightly and kept her tone cold.
