Chapter 34 Giving up their love

Three years ago, Wen Yunfeng proposed to Gu Yan. Although she was his child bride, he wanted to give her romantic proposal and wedding and let her live a happy life with him forever.

“Gu Yan, will you marry me?” Wen Yunfeng invited Gu Yan to a romantic restaurant and proposed to her.

“Yes, I do!” Gu Yan was surprised at that moment. Seeing she nodded, he put the prepared ring on her finger, and then lifted her up delightedly.

There was a huge crisis when Wen Yunfeng took over the company two years ago. He was too busy to take care of Gu Yan and he believed that she could handle everything. Gu Yan told him that her grandmother was ill and she needed to take care of her grandmother.

Finally, the company did well and Wen Yunfeng breathed a sigh of relief. But Gu Yan was not at home and he thought she still stayed with her grandmother. He was about to picked her up but got an unacceptable message from her sister.

Wen Yunfeng was so angry and wanted to roar, “Why did you do that! why!”

When Gu Yan came back, he queried about it but Gu Yan kept silent without any explanation.

After that, Wen Yunfeng was disheartened and no longer cared about Gu Yan.

Being in a lot of pain, Wen Yunfeng began a debauched life. When he saw Gu Yan’s innocent eyes, he was angrier, “It was you who betrayed me but you pretend to be innocent.” Then, he wanted to revenge against her.

Wen Yunfeng started to have sex with different kinds of women. However, it was ridiculous that he never had sex with Gu Yan.

Wen Yunfeng never thought about divorcing Gu Yan although he ignored her. He thought he was a joke and would rather let Gu Yan be “Ms. Wen” all her life than divorce her even if she betrayed him.

Wen Yunfeng was very angry but had nothing to do when Mo Yichen threatened him with their corporation.

He threw the necklace into the drawer and covered his face with hands, “Gu Yan, I hate you.”

Mo Yichen gave Wen Yunfeng a deadline since he knew Wen Yunfeng procrastinated. But Wen Yunfeng didn’t divorce Gu Yan before the deadline. Mo Yichen was dissatisfied and told Wu Gang to terminate the corporation with Wen’s company.

Wen Yunfeng knew that Mo Yichen was impatient. He finally compromised and messaged Gu Yan to go to Marriage Registry.

“We will go to Marriage Registry in a few days.” Gu Yan read the message from Wen Yunfeng. His recent behaviors really confused her.

He would rather die than divorce her in the past but compromised later. After that, he refused to go to Marriage Registry but now changed his mind again. Gu Yan felt confused more and more.

“Does he out of his mind?” Manla said suddenly when she was eating.

“Maybe.” Gu Yan didn’t care about Wen Yunfeng and she only wanted to divorce him.

“He is an insane man who likes to tantalize others. Oh, what about the decoration of Xiao Han’s house?” Manla asked.

“Well, I have already arranged the workers. They will start decorating in a couple of days.” Gu Yan knew that Manla worried about her.

“How can you do that since you haven’t contacted with those workers for such a long time?” Manla was curious and worried that whether Gu Yan could lead those experienced workers.

“They often work at daylight and want to have a part-time job at night.” People always wanted to earn money as much as possible.

“What? Decorating at night? It may bother others.” People would complain when they suffered noisy.

“Xiao Han’s house is at the first floor of an upscale district with effective sound insulation. So, we can decorate it at night.” Gu Yan had made investigation and proposed a proper solution.

“Time is limited at night. Do you have enough time?” It was only a few months for decorating.

“Of course. I have finished the design. The senior focus more on the convenience of a house, instead of flashy appearance.”

“Well, did Xiao Han know your design?” The house was half decorated and it might be difficult for Gu Yan to take over.

“I didn’t tell her about the details but I told her let me handle it. It doesn’t matter if she knows that and I won’t lie to her. The price is suitable.” She was a reliable person.

“I heard that almost all workers are liars. Don’t you afraid of being fooled?” Manla had bad impression on those workers.

“They are professional workers who have prestige in their industry. If they get ‘free ride’ then there is no market for them. Besides, they are afraid of government officials and I told them the house belongs to an official second-generation. They will do their best.” She had made good preparation.

“Really? I didn’t expect you are so thoughtful. Great!” It seemed that Gu Yan was very familiar with rules of this industry and would be promising if she worked in this area.

“I learned it when I was an intern. Every industry has their own rules. Actually, those professional workers won’t be ‘free riders’ because their final earnings will be counted according to work amount and they wish to finish the work as soon as possible to start a new project. Only the unprofessional workers who are paid by days will stall for time. People who hire unprofessional workers are meant to save money, but things go contrary to their wishes. They will not only have unhappy corporation but also bad decoration quality.” Gu Yan told Manla the situation of this industry, which she saw during her internship or knew from the decoration workers.

“It’s really a pity if you work in another field. What’s your opinion?” Manla knew that Gu Yan hadn’t found a job yet. That was Wen Yunfeng’s fault, damn!

“Well, I like interior design and I am going to find a related job. But there is no suitable vacancy for me.” She hadn’t received an interview invitation.
