“Okay. Now you can go to work. Leave me alone.”

Holding the document Gu Yan just signed her name on, the assistant peeped at her and thought that Gu Yan didn’t blame her. She breathed a sigh of relief and patted her chest.

Gu Yan narrowed her eyes and pouted with her hands holding her face, looking cute.

“Follow my heart. But where is my heart? My heart is out of my control.”

“I just want to live a plain life, with no ups and downs, no reproaches. I want to live a simple, peaceful and happy life with my beloved husband and my lovely child.”

“Why are there so many obstacles to achieving this tiny wish?” Gu Yan was lost in thought.

Suddenly, the phone vibrated and broke the silence. Gu Yan shook her head to sober herself.

She patted her head and gathered her thoughts. She rubbed her eyes, picked up her phone, and then unlocked it.

It was a message from Mo Yichen. Gu Yan’s heart thumped with excitement, and her cheeks burned with bashfulness.

“Gu Yan, are you available tonight? I found a good restaurant. Let’s have a dinner there. Also, I heard that an animated film named Coco is on at the movies, and the film receives a high rating. You will like it. I’ll pick you up at your studio tonight. What do you think? (smiley)”

Gu Yan read these words carefully. This was the first time that he dated her formally. She looked at the ceiling and beamed.

“Okay, see you there.”

Before she pressed “send”, she remembered Wen Yunfeng’s words. She had to make a decision within three days, and she couldn’t meet Mo Yichen in this period. Once Wen Yunfeng found that she broke her words, he would send those photos to Mo Yichen’s phone.

Gu Yan was lost in thought. What if Mo Yichen received the photos when they were having dinner? Would he slap her or just leave without saying anything? What if he received the photos when they were kissing? It was really awkward.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt that she couldn’t have dinner with Mo Yichen tonight.

Gu Yan leaned on the chair with her legs crossed. On second thoughts, she picked up her phone. She was so reluctant to refuse his invitation.

“I’m a little busy today. How about making a date in a few days?”

“Is he angry with me? Will he date me again?”

“Is he tackling something urgent? Maybe I should call him again and tell him the truth.”

“I should have promised him to keep an appointment. What did I do?”

Mo Yichen was in a meeting at that time. He was delivering the overall plan of the company for future development to the old shareholders. His phone in the pocket suddenly vibrated as he spoke. He guessed that it must be Gu Yan’s message.

But the old shareholders looked very grave and it seemed that they were ready to criticize him for every mistake he made. Seeing this, Mo Yichen didn’t check his phone.

Standing in front of the big screen in the meeting room, Mo Yichen spoke with confidence and composure. He was handsome and talented, receiving much praise.

Discussions, praise and applause resounded through the meeting room.

The old shareholders didn’t question his competence in managing the company anymore. Those who coveted his post as chairman of the board were ashamed of themselves and stayed silent.

The meeting was over. Mo Yichen smiled and he couldn’t wait to tell Gu Yan the good news that he cleared all obstacles in his company.

“She falls ill? How is she now? I have to send her to the hospital right away.”

After reading her message, Mo Yichen took his coat and headed for Gu Yan’s studio. A moment ago, he was in great excitement and was expecting their date. But at this moment he was so worried about Gu Yan. His mood changed as quickly as the weather, from sunny to stormy.

When he was about to leave the office, he happened to meet his assistant, who was holding a thick envelop and waiting for him at the door. The assistant was a bit embarrassed. It was the first time for her to get so close to Mo Yichen. She could feel the warmth and smell of his body, which made her flush with bashfulness.

“President Mo, there was a man who just came to our company furtively and let me hand over this envelope to you. He said it would surprise you.”

The assistant bowed her head with hands clasped tightly. There was a lot of sweat on her back and her blush faded with time.

“OK. You can go to work now.” Mo Yichen didn’t notice her expression and said coldly.

The assistant shivered. She covered her arms with her hands and left in a hurry.

Mo Yichen took the envelope and observed it carefully.

There was nothing written on it, but it was stuffed.

Mo Yichen tore the envelope open and took out a stack of photos. He was astounded. He looked around, stuffed the photos in his pocket at once and closed the door. Then he put his jacket on the chair, sat down and threw the photos onto the table.
