Chapter 16 A thrilling dinner

“Yi Chen, you are back.” Li Yunhong saw his son and forgot to embarrass Wu Gang instantly.

Wu Gang sighed with relief, “Heavens! I was out of breath.”

In fact, Wu Gang was not afraid of Li Yunhong and Chen Qian. As an assistant, he saw many rich people and knew how to deal with it. However, he was very uncomfortable in front of the two women. God knew how they were hard to get along with.

Mo Yichen sat on the sofa in the living room for a rest after work.

“Yi Chen, Qianqian spent all night cooking your favorite. It is difficult for such beautiful girls to cook. She often visits me. If only I had a daughter like her! So I wish she would be my daughter-in-law. How do you think?” When Li Yunhong talked about Chen Qian, she became very happy.

“I wouldn’t mind having a sister if you adopted her.” Mo Yichen expressed his opinion.

“It’s totally different between the adopted and the daughter-in-law. An adopted one will marry others one day but a daughter-in-law won’t.” Li Yunhong felt a bit embarrassed about what Mo Yichen said.

“Sorry, I don’t want to get married.” Mo Yichen said directly.

Li Yunhong felt a little bit angry, “Was he my natural son? Was it possible to mistake him with others in the hospital? Why did he always put me down? Alas!”

Wu Gang was in a daze. Anyway, he had little interest in their conversation. They just ignored him.

After a while, Chen Qian put the last dish on the table. Then she took off the apron and felt exhausted.

She spoke loudly, “Auntie and Yichen, dinner is ready. Oh, and Wu Gang.”

Wu Gang ignored her behaviors.

Then the four persons went to the dinner table.

It was a rectangular dining table. Li Yunhong had the host seat and Mo Yichen was on her left. Chen Qian sat next to Mo Yichen quickly.

Wu Gang was the last one and sat opposite to Mo Yi Chen.

They started the dinner after Li Yunhong’s permission.

“Yi Chen, this is your favorite fish. It took a long time to cook it. Have a taste!” Chen Qian put a piece of fish into Mo’s bowl.

Mo Yichen caught sight of the piece and hesitated to eat it.

Then he frowned, “It is too fishy!”

“Really?” Chen Qian tasted a piece of fish quickly and found it was really fishy.

Chen Qian felt awkward, “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. Try this one, Yichen, fried egg with tomato sauce.”

Mo Yichen put it in his mouth and chewed it.

“Too salty.”

Mo Yichen’s comment on the two dishes made Chen Qian feel ashamed. She looked at Li Yunhong for help.

“Hmmm, time was limited and Qianqian made some mistakes. Try others and tell us if they are good or not. Mistakes make us improve!” Li Yunhong tried to defuse the awkward situation.

Dinner went on.

Wu Gang felt wronged about the dinner, “Is this the first time for her to cook? The food is burnt and dry. The rice is undercooked and the meat is too tough. The fish is too fishy and the soup is too salty. On my god! Will I have a diarrhea tonight?”

In the past, Wu Gang had the delicious food made by the nanny.

But the dinner prepared by the “princess” Chen Qian was too terrible to eat. “Gosh, it’s a horrible dinner. No wonder the butler said that. He already knew everything. Alas!”

Finally, Mo Yichen couldn’t stand it anymore. He finished the rice in his bowl without tasting the food on the table any more. Then he put down the bowl to say he was full and left the table.

Wu Gang followed his boss to leave the table in a hurry.

Chen Qian frowned and felt depressed.

Li Yunhong saw her expression and comforted her softly, “It’s ok. Your cooking need your more efforts. It will be better in the future.”

Chen Qian replied in a perfunctory manner. In fact, to be a “princess”, she never cooked by herself. She did these things only to please Li Yunhong.

“Mom, I have something to do and have to go.” Mo Yichen came out and said to Li Yunhong.

“Now? I told you to delay your business and stay with me tonight, didn’t I?” Li Yunhong said in a deep voice.

“I have an emergency.” Mo Yichen said without delay.

“Wu Gang is here. He can help you.” Li Yunhong was very sure that Mo Yichen was looking for an excuse.

“Wu Gang will go with me. It is an emergency.” He replied.

“What kind of emergency?” Mo Yichen seldom came back and Li Yunhong really wanted him to stay home.

The air became more and more stifling. Then Chen Qian persuaded Li Yunhong,

“Auntie, since he has something to do and let him handle it.”

On hearing what Chen Qian said, Li Yunhong let him go first.

“Well, it’s a really good girl. She would like to help Yichen. When they get married, she will be a good mother and wife.” Li Yunhong thought.

Chen Qian was not as generous as what Li Yunhong thought. She did it only to maintain her good image in front of Mo Yichen.

“Rome was not built in a day. I have already got favor from Li Yunhong. There were no other women around Mo Yichen. I still have chances.”

At this time, Mo Yichen and Wu Gang left the house.

Wu Gang tapped his chest and calmed himself down. Fortunately, Mo Yichen and Li Yunhong had few quarrels.

After he came back to the earth, Wu Gang felt confused. Where were they?

“Boss, where are we going?” It was neither the way to the company nor the way to go home or his president’s villa. Was it really something emergency?

“Let’s go to have a delicious dinner.” Mo Yichen said emotionlessly.
