Chapter 158 Meeting in the studio

It was a long night.

The next morning, Gu Yan was awakened by the smell of an appetizing cake. Finding herself not in her old bedroom, she got up hastily to look outside in the balcony.

I like to sit on the cane chair to read books and have afternoon tea undisturbedly, like Tao Yuanming,” Gu Yan didn’t know that Liang Shaohun walked into her room. He thought he would leave a good impression to Gu Yan for what he said, but was mocked.

“Morning.” Gu Yan saw Liang Shaohun.

“Who doesn’t like to live the life you described just now? But the hardships of life force people to stop deluding themselves. You can enjoy your ideal life whenever you want since you have the servants and a big house. But we are not in the same world. It may take half or a lifetime, or even several lifetimes for people like me to live a life like yours.” Gu Yan explained to him.

“Impressive. I need to learn from you.” Liang Shaohun was astonished to hear that.

“I’ve toasted the bread. Get yourself prepared and go downstairs to have breakfast. Then we will set out.” Liang Shaohun walked out.

Gu Yan washed quickly and ate breakfast.

“You are so versatile. I thought rich people never cook by themselves. You really surprised me.” Gu Yan tasted a piece of bread. “It tastes good.” Any man who was able to cook like Mo Yichen was charming.

“I can’t believe that both of you are very talented.”

“What do you mean ‘both’? Did you…” Liang Shaohun hit the mark with a single comment.

“I mean one of my girlfriends. She’s as beautiful as you. But she cooks, too.” Gu Yan told a lie.

“Good to know. Will you introduce her to me?”

“Why?”

“I can make more friends and we won’t feel awkward when we finally meet.”

“OK. But she is not here.”

“I know. I can go to your city. Don’t worry about it. Now we have to go. The renter has already called me.” Liang Shaohun frowned.

“Well, I’m done. Let’s go.”

Then they got on a car and left.

“The renter is liberal and the rent is reasonable. But we have to check the studio personally since location is very important. We have to pay more attention to it.” Liang Shaohun told Gu Yan prudentially.

Gu Yan knew nothing about it. She could only nod.

“I see. To tell you the truth, I know nothing about it. All I can do is designing. If I can’t follow the renter later, please don’t mind. I believe in you.” Gu Yan had no wariness against Liang Shaohun.

“Well, I’ll try my best. You just need to follow me.” Liang Shaohun said affectionately.

“Here we are. Follow me.” Then Liang Shaohun took Gu Yan’s hand. Gu Yan refused at first. But she stopped struggling out of nervousness.

“Hello, we are here to check the house.”

“OK, please come with me.”

Gu Yan was satisfied that the space here was quite large. She could paint and design in such a good environment. In addition, there was a room which could be used to entertain the guests.

“Sir, this is a second-level location. Let me put it this way, the peaceful environment of this place is beneficial to inspire the artists. Also, it is close to the center of the city.” The renter introduced unhurriedly. It’s Gu Yan’s decision to make. Liang Shaohun was cool with the place since he was just an introducer. This place was arranged by Mo Yichen.

Gu Yan looked around and was satisfied with the location. But she worried it might take a lot of money of Liang Shaohun to rent the place. Before she went there, she even called Manla to lend 100,000 RMB.

“Gu Yan, what do you think?” Liang Shaohun asked.

“It’s a lovely place. But…” Gu Yan stopped talking and took Liang Shaohun aside.

“Is the rent too high?” Gu Yan was still worried about money.

“That’s not a problem. Here is a residence of one of my friends. He is abroad now. Although this place is a little bit far, it is quiet and good for your work.” Liang Shaohun looked outside the window. There was a beach nearby. The seagulls were flying in the sky. It was very close to the sea.

“I don’t care what the house used to be. I mean…” Gu Yan wanted to talk about the contract.

“Rest assured. I’ll keep my words since I promised you. I’m an investor and I trust you as my partner. Both of us have our own objectives. I just want to try to expand the capital and I won’t be mean to you.” Liang Shaohun caught her mood at a glance.

Gu Yan looked around again. Guess better stuffs deserved much more money than the ordinary ones.
