Chapter 149 Self-reliance

Li Ling came over and looked at Li Yunhong who glanced at Mo Yichen and acquiesced. Then Li Ling sat down. It was the first time that the masters had sat together with servants. Auntie Xue even didn’t dare to eat anything.

“Come on, Auntie Xue. Help yourself. Enjoy the meal you cooked for us.” Mo Yichen said and took food to Auntie Xue. It was unprecedented in Mo’s family.

“Thanks a lot, young master.” Auntie Xue held the bowl and ate quickly.

“You are so lucky, Auntie Xue. Yichen never takes food to me.” Li Yunhong was jealous and said it deliberately.

“I did take food to you. You must forget it. Fine, what do you want to eat?” Mo Yichen refuted.

“Whatever, as long as it is from you.” Li Yunhong smiled and looked at Mo Yichen lovingly. Thanks to Li Ling, Li Yunhong would have a chance to express her love to his son and she was happy about it. They would hard to get together without Li Ling.

They spent a wonderful night with chatting and laughing. It was warm and sweet like a big family.

Li Yunhong wanted to keep Mo Yichen at home for a night. But Mo Yichen got a call from Wu Gang accidently.

“Mom, take care of yourself and Xiangyan. I will come back to see you more often.” Mo Yichen said.

“OK. Let’s invite Chen Qian to enjoy the happy time together next time. I hope that we can always be happy like today.” Li Yunhong held Mo Yichen’s hands tightly.

“Mom, how many times do I have to tell you? I won’t go back home if she was here.” Mo Yichen was perturbed when he heard about Chen Qian.

“Mom, I should go.” Mo Yichen released Li Yunhong’s hands and turned away.

Li Yunhong was about to say something but Mo Yichen strode forward.

“How was your day? Fortunately, I am not here since I can feel that you are unhappy.” Wu Gang looked at Mo Yichen and thought he escaped from the catastrophe.

“Sorry, I feel very happy tonight. It is the most comfortable family dinner I have ever had.” Mo Yichen didn’t explain too much and only showed an eye gesture.

“Are you kidding, boss? You should care about a meal at home?” Wu Gang thought he had got it wrong.

“I have a wonderful night since Chen Qian isn’t here. Everything is fine. I’m sorry to disappoint you.” Mo Yichen said and opened the car window.

“Boss, are you ok?”

“Why do you come to me?” Mo Yichen just remembered that Wu Gang called him before.

“Well, it is about Miss Gu Yan.” Wu Gang wanted to know Mo Yichen’s reaction.

“The latest news showed that Miss Gu was about to set up a branch in another city.” Wu Gang continued.

“Well. It seemed that she got a target.” Mo Yichen was shocked but soon he recovered.

“Boss, do we need to help her secretly? She just starts and doesn’t have enough money. Also, they only have reputation in the design field. But there are many things that need to be considered…” Wu Gang said but was interrupted.

“Fine. What about you lend some money to her? You can invest in her studio. That’s a good idea.” Mo Yichen ridiculed Wu Gang who poked his nose into others’ business.

“Come on. I pay attention to her because of you. I won’t ask if you don’t help her.” Wu Gang was helpless since he just wanted Mo Yichen to know about it.

“I am tired. Send me home.” Mo Yichen rubbed his dry eyes.

Then Wu Gang drove to home. He felt that Mo Yichen was different today. “How long can you pretend to not care about Miss Gu? You look indifferent but was ambitious actually.”

“It is wonderful to stay at home.” Gu Yan took a shower and lay in the bed comfortably.

“Do you want to eat it?” Manla fed Gu Yan a piece of pitaya.

“Thank you.” Gu Yan felt very happy.

“I think you already knew about the stock market. You have to take a risk of 5% if you bought it. It means that you have to insure by your credit if you want to establish a branch in another city.” Manla told Gu Yan all things about the debts in the future. Gu Yan could only make a loan if she wanted to set up a branch.

“Do you want to stay here or leave?” Manla frowned since she didn’t want Gu Yan to leave her and start business in an unfamiliar city. Gu Yan should have a rest since she had gone through a lot.

“What if I want to leave?” Gu Yan asked.

“I will respect your decision.” Manla pretended to be calm but was disappointed indeed. Gu Yan didn’t stay here because of anyone. After all, this city was a sad place for Gu Yan. Manla also wished that Gu Yan would start her new life.

“Well, I am kidding. How can I be willing to leave you? I will operate the studio with one of my classmates who studied abroad with me in France. He helped me a lot and hold 56% of the stock in the new studio.” Gu Yan was happy. But Manla thought Gu Yan was still a young girl who needed to experience more and needed someone to take the lead.

“Gu Yan, listen to me. I am worried about you. You need someone’s help since this is related to interests of both parties. I think you should ask Mo Yichen for some advice.” Manla worried about Gu Yan’s “classmate” and wanted Gu Yan to turn to Mo Yichen for help.

“Manla, I have nothing to do with him. We are strangers. I just want to depend on myself. So, please believe me.” Gu Yan said with a little bit of sorrow.
