Chapter 138 A small talk after dinner

Manla even couldn’t smile and took a piece of chicken to Gu Yan. Gu Yan spit it out after tasting it.

They finally decided to call for a takeout.

They ate pizza and watched the bubble drama, talking about matters weighing on their mind. They knew well and cared about each other since they were true friends.

“Did Wen Yunfeng come to you?” Manla asked.

“Why are you asking that? I will ignore him whether he come to me or not.” Gu Yan replied firmly.

“Well, I thought that he harassed you again. You have to tell me if that happens.” Manla warned Gu Yan because she worried that Gu Yan who was so kind and used to love him so much would be cheated again.

“I am good. He called me before and said that we should make things clear. Then I came to meet him even I was unwilling.” Gu Yan looked down.

“Then he cheated you again? Did he want to make it up? Forget it. It is impossible.” Manla thought that Gu Yan was irresolute, so she said firmly.

“No. I changed my mind since I have grown up. I thought that I couldn’t live without him. Actually, I can, although it is very difficult for me to live alone. I’m not scared because you are supporting me!” Gu Yan smiled to Manla.

“I know that you love me.” Manla hugged Gu Yan.

“Tell me scandals about Wen Yunfeng to make me happy.” Manla wanted to know about the things happened that today.

“I was about to take the design to Mo Yichen that night since he was my customer. But Wen Yunfeng called me and said that he wanted to have a farewell dinner with me. I would like to make clear the relationship between us, so I broke the appointment with Mo Yichen. I am afraid that Mo Yichen is angry.” Gu Yan said.

“Probably not. He will forgive you. Have you met him since that time?” Manla asked.

“We hadn’t called each other since that time. A week later, I…” Gu Yan was about to tell Manla that Mo Yichen was with her grandma in the hospital but was interrupted.

“That’s fine. He was too busy and would understand that you really had something to do that day. You are very important to him, so he will not let you go. And he will hold you tight since you have no sense of security.” Manla talked excitedly. Gu Yan even didn’t notice that Manla was a gossipy girl before.

“What happened to you and Wen Yunfeng?” Manla knew that Gu Yan would keep something to herself. It must be something important to Gu Yan so Gu Yan was willing to meet him.

“Yes. There is a necklace called ‘eternal heart’ which is a token of affection. Wen Yunfeng said that he would wear it for me when we get married. Finally, he told me to send that necklace to him and then he wore it for another woman in front of me.” Gu Yan said without any tears. If she said this before, she would be sad.

“I am happy for you since you finally let him go.” Manla was happy for Gu Yan’s calmness.

“It is you who make me become such an excellent person.” Gu Yan hugged Manla.

“And then?” Manla wanted to know how Gu Yan rejected Wen Yunfeng.

“He made the necklace for me before we got married. But you know that thing happened. They were ashamed of me at that time. Now, Wen Yunfeng wanted to get back together through this necklace. I would forgive him if I was the person in the past. But I refused and argued with him and smashed the necklace.” Gu Yan couldn’t help weeping.

“Why are you crying?” Manla worried about Gu Yan.

“All is because he didn’t know the truth but nobody helped me at that time. I hope that I would meet a better Wen Yunfeng next life.” Gu Yan said with gestures.

“Can’t you let him go?” Manla asked.

“Don’t you think that I performed like a drama? Don’t worry. I am so strong that can let him go. It is a pity that the one who loved me so much finally betrayed me.” Gu Yan drunk the beer.

“What about you? I heard that you talked about many men but never talked about him!” Gu Yan wanted to know more about Manla who also had a load on mind.

“Me? I don’t need love which is wounding. Is it worth it?”

Hearing Manla’s question, Gu Yan shook her head.

“I would like to pursue a man that I like. But I will comfort myself if I lost someone. This is my life, which enables me to meet different landscapes. Most of people know how beautiful love is but seldom know the sorrow of love.” Manla wept too.

“I am sorry that I had no idea about your sorrow.” Gu Yan said and then they snuggled together.

The long night passed and a new day begun. They had to struggle in work again.

Gu Yan got up early and made breakfast for Manla who was drunk last night. “I am so sorry. I have no idea about your sorrow but just talked to you about my own things.”

“I will protect you from now on and hope that you can be happy.” Gu Yan promised.
