“Daddy, I wanna go to the amusement park this weekend,” Chi Ze’s voice was heard. Shortly after, Chi Mingwei and Zhu Limin walked into the living room.

They were stunned the moment they saw Quan Jue.

When Chi Ze saw Quan Jue, he quietly hid behind Zhu Limin.

He had the courage to speak ill of Quan Jue behind his back. But every time he saw him, he couldn’t help but feel fearful of him.

Chi Ze had always had an inexplicable fear of Quan Jue.

The atmosphere turned a little awkward.

Chi Jiao glanced at Quan Jue. Seeing that he still had a nonchalant expression, she took the lead to break the silence. “Daddy, you’re back.”

Chi Mingwei looked at her and Quan Jue. No matter how he looked at them, he felt that the scene of them standing side by side was an eyesore.

“Jiaojiao, come here,” Chi Mingwei said to her in a stern tone.

“Daddy, Brother Quan is leaving. I’ll send him off,” Chi Jiao said.

Chi Mingwei didn’t expect her to not listen to him. His eyebrows were furrowed so tightly that they could squeeze a fly to death.

Recalling what Quan Jue had said previously, Chi Mingwei felt a strong sense of crisis. He couldn’t bear to flare up at Chi Jiao, so he could only direct his anger at Quan Jue. “Why did you come back?”

“To take my things,” Quan Jue said indifferently before pulling his luggage towards the door.

Zhu Limin stood in front of him and swept her gaze across him and Chi Jiao before smiling at him. “Xiao Jue, where are you planning to go with your luggage? This is your home. You haven’t been back in the past few days. Where did you go?”

Quan Jue looked at her coldly. “It’s none of your business.”

When Chi Jiao saw that he didn’t give Zhu Limin any face, she almost burst out laughing.

“How can you talk to your aunt this way? No matter what, she’s your elder! Quan Jue, you’re getting more and more out of hand!” Chi Mingwei looked at him with a stern face.

Quan Jue scoffed at that. “Do you want me to repeat what I said that day?”

Chi Mingwei’s expression stiffened. Looking at Quan Jue’s mocking face, he couldn’t say a word.

Quan Jue dragged his luggage out while Chi Jiao followed behind him like a little tail.

He only stopped when they had walked out of the villa.

“Go home. No need to send me off.” The young man’s cold voice disappeared into the night breeze.

Chi Jiao looked at his back view, which was as straight as a Populus tree. She could feel his aura turning gloomy and low again. “Brother Quan, you still have me.”

“It’s cold outside. Head back. The car I called is waiting in front.” Quan Jue walked forward as his voice continued to ring out. “See you in school tomorrow.”

His last sentence delighted Chi Jiao instantly.

She waved at his back. “Be careful on the way, Brother Quan. See you tomorrow.”

Chi Jiao waited for Quan Jue’s back view to completely disappear before turning around and going back into the villa.

“Jiaojiao, your father wants you to go to the study,” Zhu Limin said as she stood up.

Chi Jiao nodded lightly.

Zhu Limin walked up to her. “It’s probably because of you and Quan Jue. Your father hasn’t been well recently, so don’t make him angry.”

Chi Jiao glanced at her indifferently and said nothing in return. Then, she went upstairs.

In the study.

Chi Mingwei hadn’t been this angry in a long time.

He was sensitive enough to detect the difference in the way Jiaojiao treated Quan Jue.

It was an extraordinary difference.

“Puppy love? Haha…” Chi Mingwei thought of this possibility, but at the same time, he found it ridiculous.
