The Maybach-branded car stopped steadily in front of the villa.

The young man standing against the wall at the entrance to the villa stood up a little. Then, he saw Gong Lu getting out of the car in a custom-made casual suit.

He didn’t notice the youngster standing not far away. He walked straight to the backseat and opened the door.

Chi Jiao alighted from the car with a tired expression. Gong Lu raised his hand to caress the top of her head, before leaning close to whisper, “If you encounter such things in the future, stop trying to be brave. Call the police or the rest of us as soon as possible. You’re our boss. You don’t have to deal with that kind of scum by yourself.”

Although Chi Jiao usually called him and Yan Zhengchen her brothers, in reality, she was their boss.

They had all received Chi Jiao’s god grandfather’s favor and were taken in by him.

Chi Jiao was the successor her god grandfather had personally appointed. Gong Lu, Yan Zhengchen, and the rest had to serve her.

But because they had such a good relationship, they rarely talked about this side of their relationship. Everyone interacted like a family.

The young man was wearing a black hoodie and black casual pants. His hands were in his pockets, and his cold, handsome face was expressionless.

His aura was gloomy and cold.

Chi Jiao didn’t know when Quan Jue had arrived. She was taken aback for a moment before feeling pleasantly surprised.

A huge smile appeared on Chi Jiao’s lips as she ran towards him.

“Brother Quan, why are you here?”

Quan Jue looked at her as she walked up to him. Despite seeing her brilliant smile, the haze in his eyes did not diminish at all.

“I came to get something,” Quan Jue said nonchalantly as he lowered his gaze. “But there doesn’t seem to be anyone inside.”

His things were still in the villa.

Initially, he didn’t plan to come and get those things any time soon.

But he couldn’t control the small thoughts in his mind.

“There’s indeed no one at home today. I had something on earlier as well, so I went out.” Chi Jiao felt that Quan Jue’s attitude towards her seemed to have returned to how cold he was before. She could roughly guess why.

Although that was what she thought, she didn’t show it on the surface.

“Brother Quan, the person who sent me back just now is one of my big brothers. I did something huge today.” Chi Jiao looked at him with sparkling eyes.

Sure enough, Quan Jue’s interest was piqued. He frowned and asked, “What big thing?”

“Head in with me. I’ll tell you slowly,” Chi Jiao said with a smile.

Quan Jue pursed his thin lips and nodded.
