Chapter 239: Mercenaries

“Yun Qing.”

The blonde man in the lead actually pronounced Yun Qing’s name accurately.

Yun Qing felt a chill down her spine as an ominous premonition filled her heart.

She took a step back and watched as these men with malicious intentions walked toward her, trying to remain calm. “Who are you guys?”

“Heh, you may not remember us, but we do remember you.” The man sneered. “I never expected to see you here again. To think that God would grant me such an opportunity.”

Yun Qing realized what was going on.

Back then, in order to save Huo Chuan, she had used a gun to kill a few mercenaries.

This was also how Yun Qing ended up being targeted by this group of people. The car accident had been orchestrated on their part.

After Yun Qing was lucky enough to survive, she sent people to investigate and teach those people a lesson. Therefore, the mercenaries left her alone.

However, she did not expect that she would meet them here.

“I was just defending myself.” Yun Qing looked around, ready to find an opportunity to escape.

Although she knew some self-defense techniques, she had clearly seen the gun on the man’s waist just now.

Nobody was going to fight a gunman.

At that critical moment, Huo Chuan came out from the corner holding a bouquet of flowers. He had wanted to give Yun Qing a surprise, but when he turned the corner, he saw the men preparing to attack Yun Qing.

Yun Qing turned around and saw Huo Chuan engaging them in a fight.

Even though Huo Chuan was once a soldier, Yun Qing still could not bear to let him deal with these few mercenaries alone. She rushed forward to help.

Blood splattered on Yun Qing’s face and the flowers on the ground. The roses turned into an even darker shade of red, and they hurt Yun Qing’s eyes.

“Huo Chuan!”

Yun Qing did not want to be indebted to Huo Chuan again, so she held him up with a scream.

Huo Chuan was in so much pain that he broke out in a cold sweat. He gritted his teeth and said, “I, I’m fine. Be careful…”

The man raised his gun again and aimed at Yun Qing. To be precise, he was aiming it at Huo Chuan, who was blocking Yun Qing’s way.

“Ha, what a tragic immortal couple.” The man with the gun sneered, “That year, this woman killed our brothers with a gun just to save your life! Unfortunately, we failed to take this woman’s life before…”

Huo Chuan was stunned—it really had been Yun Qing!

The person who saved him and sent him back to the military camp was truly her!

Huo Chuan really wanted to turn around and hug Yun Qing in his arms to thank her properly. However, the situation was tense now, so Huo Chuan did not dare to act rashly.

Just as everyone held their breaths, an alarm sounded. The mercenaries heard the sound and were stunned. They glared at Huo Chuan and Yun Qing.

“Consider yourselves lucky!” They put away their guns and quickly fled the scene.

Although they were mercenaries and had killed countless people, they still did not dare to act rashly in the open.

Upon seeing them leave, Huo Chuan’s tensed nerves finally relaxed a lot. His whole body trembled as he leaned against Yun Qing’s body.

Yun Qing’s body stiffened, and she was about to push him away, but Huo Chuan said, “Let me lean on you… Okay?”

“Are you… Okay?” Yun Qing looked at the bleeding wound on Huo Chuan’s shoulder, and there was a trace of anxiety in her tone.
