Chapter 231: Escape Room

Over the next few days, Huo Chuan kept thinking about what Yun Qing had said to him.

He knew keenly that there was a hidden meaning in Yun Qing’s words. Perhaps, he had truly forgotten something important.

It was not that Huo Chuan had not looked for the person who had saved him before, but it was too difficult to find a single individual in a war-torn country.

That weekend, Yun Qing was dragged by Gu Zhi and Ye Zhi to the horror simulation complex “Secret Room” to enjoy another evening. As soon as she arrived at the door, she met Huo Zhou.

“Yun Qing, what a coincidence.” Huo Zhou smiled at Yun Qing and greeted her.

Ye Zhi looked Huo Zhou up and down and asked cautiously, “Yun Qing, who is this?”

“Huo Zhou,” Yun Qing explained while smiling at him.

Ye Zhi’s expression turned even darker when he heard that the surname Huo. “Huo? You’re not related to Huo Chuan, are you?”

“Yes, Huo Chuan is my cousin,” Huo Zhou admitted generously, “But I grew up overseas and just only recently returned. I heard that this ‘Secret Room’ is very popular over here, so I wanted to experience it. You guys won’t mind if I play with you guys, right?”

Ye Zhi was about to refuse, but Yun Qing stepped forward and said, “Yes, it’s okay.”

Since Yun Qing had spoken, Ye Zhi could not say anything. He had to swallow the displeasure in his heart and let Huo Zhou join their team.

Yun Qing had never played “Secret Room” before, but she had always been brave and “Ghosts” did not scare her.

Everyone held their breaths as they stepped into the darkness. Ye Zhi and Gu Zhi hid behind Yun Qing. Huo Zhou, like Yun Qing, was not afraid at all. He walked in front with her.

“AH—”

Suddenly, Ye Zhi screamed. His voice could have torn a hole through the sky. Gu Zhi also started to scream. Yun Qing felt a headache setting in. She turned around and asked, “What happened to you guys?”

“Just… just now, I think someone touched my leg…” Ye Zhi was trembling and didn’t dare to breathe loudly.

Yun Qing looked around helplessly. “Don’t worry, there’s no one here.”

Ye Zhi was also embarrassed to have been as timid as a mouse in front of Yun Qing. Although he was still extremely scared, he still held it in and quietly followed Yun Qing.

Huo Zhou loved going out and taking risks. He was always in front of the three of them and could always find some clues to unlock the secret immediately. He was very reliable.

They arrived at a secret chamber. A well inside caught Huo Zhou’s attention.

The chamber was mostly empty. Huo Zhou pondered for a while and said, “The key to the next door should be hidden in that well.”

Yun Qing was about to walk over to take a look, but Huo Zhou stopped her and volunteered, “You guys wait here. I’ll go take a look. I don’t know if there are any traps in that well yet.”

Seeing Huo Zhou’s insistence, Yun Qing nodded and watched Huo Zhou walk over.

Huo Zhou walked to the well, bent down and reached out to look for something. Suddenly, a hand grabbed him.

“AH—”

Huo Zhou was pulled into the well.

“Huo Zhou!”

Yun Qing rushed over and saw a “Female ghost” looking up at her from the well.

Although Yun Qing was never afraid of anything, she could not help but take a step back when this strange-looking female ghost had been planted so strategically in this dark and weird atmosphere. She experienced a jump scare and her face was pale.

“Yun Qing, are you okay?!” Ye Zhi ran up and grabbed Yun Qing’s hand. But soon, he saw the female ghost smiling at him in the well.

“Ah!” Ye Zhi screamed again, and he was no longer as brave as before.

“Yun Qing, don’t be afraid. Come down!” Huo Zhou’s voice came from the well, echoing.

Yun Qing came back to her senses and walked to the well carefully. She looked down again.

The female ghost had been chased away by Huo Zhou. Only Huo Zhou was left standing under the well.
