Chapter 48: 048 Things Were Not Going Well

Shen Yan saw that Old Master Fu’s trending searches blew up all over the internet, so she took Chen Nian to eat at a Japanese restaurant.

She felt disgusted after seeing Fu Xiaoxiao and Lin Xing when she arrived at the restaurant. If she had known earlier, she would have checked the almanac before leaving the house. Things were not going well for her.

Lin Xing ducked behind Fu Xiaoxiao uneasily when she saw Shen Yan.

Fu Xiaoxiao knew that Lin Xing became timid after being exposed on the internet. Not only that, but the maid also mentioned that Lin Xing often woke up from her nightmares. She did not have a good rest as a result.

Fu Xiaoxiao remembered how Shen Yan had insulted Old Master Fu. At that time, she did not even notice that her grandfather was being insulted, as her mind was full of her gown.

She clenched her fists and looked coldly at Shen Yan. She walked toward Shen Yan and demanded, “Shen Yan, you have to apologize to Grandpa and Sister-in-law!”

Lin Xing cowered as she followed behind Fu Xiaoxiao, looking at Shen Yan cautiously.

Chen Nian, who was standing beside Shen Yan, could not help but laugh out loud. She retorted, “Miss Fu, are you out of your mind?!”

Shen Yan tugged Chen Nian’s arm gently and signaled for her to stay low for now. She looked at Fu Xiaoxiao calmly and responded, “I’m sorry, I don’t apologize to things of different species!”

“Y-You… How dare you say that we’re not human!” Fu Xiaoxiao’s anger was immediately aroused, and she looked at Shen Yan with an indignant face.

Shen Yan answered innocently, “I’m just stating a fact!”

“You…” Fu Xiaoxiao was about to explode from her anger. When she saw the drink on Shen Yan’s table, she subconsciously took it up to throw it at her.

Shen Yan had long seen through Fu Xiaoxiao’s trick. Fu Xiaoxiao was a dumb brute. She would only attack physically when angered. So, she grabbed Fu Xiaoxiao’s wrist and splashed the juice all over Fu Xiaoxiao’s face.

The juice slid down Fu Xiaoxiao’s long, curly hair and her makeup was smudged. She was completely stupefied. After she came back to her senses, she saw the jeering gazes of the people around her.

Fu Xiaoxiao stood there in a mess. She glared at Shen Yan with a face full of abomination. How she wished Shen Yan would just drop dead!

The juice dripped from her hair onto her sweater and seeped into it, bit by bit. Fu Xiaoxiao shivered unknowingly. She had no choice but to look for Lin Xing after seeing that Lin Xing had fled away in fear.

As soon as she left, Chen Nian snorted discontentedly and complained, “What’s wrong with her?! She tried to attack you when she can’t win in an argument!”

As Shen Yan was often with Fu Xiaoxiao before, she knew exactly what Fu Xiaoxiao was thinking as soon as her eyes moved. She smiled and replied, “Who knows? Let’s go eat.”

After dinner, Chen Nian dragged Shen Yan back to her seat as she was about to leave.

“Yanyan, do you not like Lu Yu?” Chen Nian pouted slightly and inquired in a low voice.

“Huh?” Shen Yan frowned slightly and looked at her in confusion.

“What’s not good about Lu Yu? He’s even doing well academically! You… don’t always think about Fu Hang!” Chen Nian could not help but add as she thought that Shen Yan still had plans to get back with Fu Hang.

Shen Yan smiled and shook her head. “I’m not thinking about Fu Hang. I just want to make money now. Lu Yu is very talented. I plan on letting him manage my finances when he finishes his studies!”

Chen Nian looked at Shen Yan in a daze and asked in puzzlement, “Lu Yu is pretty good-looking. Don’t you have any feelings for him?”

“No.” Shen Yan shook her head.

“He’s very similar to Fu Hang.” Chen Nian grabbed Shen Yan’s hand and looked at her. As long as Shen Yan did not have a boyfriend, she felt that Shen Yan still had Fu Hang in mind. “If you don’t like Lu Yu, Zhou Ye is also not bad.”

“Zhou Ye…” Shen Yan pursed her lips. She blocked Zhou Ye, as he would constantly send her messages about his daily activities. “He’s worse than Lu Yu!”

Chen Nian finished the last sip of her drink. She got up, grabbed Shen Yan’s arm, and walked out with Shen Yan. “Do you want to go to the bar for a drink?”

“No, I’m going to start filming soon. I’ve to go back and read my script!” Shen Yan replied with a smile.

Chen Nian frowned slightly and glanced at Shen Yan. She sighed helplessly and responded, “Alright then!”

They went home together. Just as Shen Yan entered her house, she heard a knock on the door. She opened the door helplessly. “Niannian, what…”

Before she could finish her sentence, she saw Fu Hang standing at the door. She stopped talking and pursed her lips uncomfortably. However, she did not expect Fu Hang to follow her when she was about to close the door.

“What are you doing here?” Shen Yan lowered her eyes slightly. She thought about what Chen Nian had said when they returned from the restaurant. Perhaps she should find a boyfriend, in that case…

“Here.” Fu Hang handed Shen Yan a USB drive and said expressionlessly.

Shen Yan glanced at it and then looked at Fu Hang. She frowned slightly in confusion.

Fu Hang saw that Shen Yan did not take the drive, so he handed it to her again and added, “This is the release plan and contract for ‘The Way of the Stars’ to be released on the 25th of December.”

Shen Yan looked up at Fu Hang. Her eyes were full of puzzlement. She mouthed hesitantly, “We plan to release it next year.”

“It’s better to release it this year.” Fu Hang replied lightly.
