Chapter 38 Balance between Work and Leisure

The cab could not enter the neighborhood, so Xia Xiaoluo got off at the gate of Desa’s Garden. While thinking about how to take so many books back to the apartment, a Maybach stopped in front of her, and she naturally moved to the side and made way for the car.

“Idiot, don’t you know my car?” Getting off, Ling Tianyi carried the bag full of books with one hand and threw it to the back of the car, and then he threw Xia Xiaoluo, who was stunned, to the co-driver seat, driving all along to the parking spot underground in Desa’s Garden.

Ling Tianyi held Xia Xiaoluo’s book in one hand, dragging the dazed Xia Xiaoluo with the other one, and entered the elevator of the underground parking lot.

“Isn’t your car a Lamborghini?” Xia Xiaoluo finally came to herself and asked.

“Your husband is the richest man in City A. Shouldn’t he have many cars? Besides the Lamborghini and this Maybach, your husband also has Ferrari, Cayenne, and Bentley. It seems there’s also a Rolls-Royce!” He squinted at her with one hand holding her books, and the other going into her T-shirt.

Xia Xiaoluo pushed him away at once, “Ugh, don’t do that. There’s a camera in the elevator.”

With a quirky smile, Ling Tianyi said, “Baby, you mean we can continue after getting home.”

“I didn’t mean that.” She explained immediately. How could there be someone unreasonable like him? It was he who wanted to do something, not she.

“Ding dong”, the elevator arrived at their floor.

Dragging her back home, Ling Tianyi threw her books randomly on the floor and quickly held his sweet wife up, “Baby, you can’t wait, right?”

“No!” Xia Xiaoluo shyly buried her head in Ling Tianyi’s strong chest and did not dare to look up.

“Baby, what’s wrong here? Someone beat you?” He pointed at her shoulder and asked.

Suddenly, Ling Tianyi asked in a stern voice, “Tell me the truth, did you see any handsome guy today in school?”

“Er…” She was speechless. She did see someone handsome—Ouyang Ziqian was really handsome!

“No. Absolutely not!” Xia Xiaoluo denied. Although she felt guilty, she showed an indifferent look.

After staring at her for a while, Ling Tianyi whispered in her ear, “Nice. Remember, you’re my wife. I’m the only one in your heart and your eyes. If you betray me, do you know the result?”

“I’m going to die, right?” She blurted it out, for it was mentioned by him so many times that she knew it was the answer for sure.

“Baby, you’re too tired today. Don’t need to cook dinner. How about I give you a treat, and we go out for a feast?” He couldn’t bear to hunger his sweetheart.

Driving the Maybach, he took her to a luxurious western restaurant. Opening the door like a gentleman, he brought her in.

The waiter politely led them to a well-decorated private room, and handed the menu to them respectfully.

“Lady first!” Ling Tianyi passed the menu to Xia Xiaoluo.

“What?” Xia Xiaoluo felt uneasy, for the menu was in English.

Ling Tianyi did it on purpose. He smiled and looked at Xia Xiaoluo, waiting for her to make a fool of herself. Xia Xiaoluo was smart and immediately said to the waiter, “Please recommend some dishes to us!”

Ling Tianyi said something to the waiter in English, and the waiter introduced a lot in English, which Xia Xiaoluo still could not understand. She glared at Ling Tianyi, knowing he did it on purpose.

“Then, I’d like the first one you mentioned. I want two. Both of us are hungry. Please be quick.” Thinking that she was not a picky eater, she could take everything the waiter served. There’s no way if you want to play a prank on me!

Ling Tianyi pretended to clear his throat and said to Xia Xiaoluo, “Baby, I’m very surprised; you actually want to eat that painting. Do you know, the first thing he talked about was that painting? However, I don’t want to eat it. You can if you want.”

“You…” Xia Xiaoluo was annoyed and didn’t know what to say. The waiter didn’t dare to laugh, just keeping a straight face and holding back his laughter.

“That’s what you intended, but it’s you who want to give me a treat. Therefore, you order for us.” Xia Xiaoluo pushed the menu to the front of him angrily.

Ling Tianyi was hungry, too, so he didn’t continue his banter; instead, he quickly chose the dishes.

While waiting for their order, he told her, “Baby, I didn’t do that to trouble you, but to tell you if don’t study hard, it’ll difficult for you to go out for food.”

“Humph!” Xia Xiaoluo looked at the other side, showing a disdainful look.

“Although you’ve entered the Chinese Department, you need to learn English as well. You must pass CET-4 this semester, or I’ll spank you hard!” Tasting his coffee, Ling Tianyi said in a simple way.

“You truly want to go hard with me.” Xia Xiaoluo was unhappy, because it was very difficult for her to pass CET-4.

“There’s no room for negotiation. Bear this in your mind, don’t be lazy and playful in school. You must study hard with all of your heart.” Ling Tianyi said slowly in a stern manner.

He did this for his reason. The little girl was so pretty that he could not help but eating her up, let alone those young boys in Dwichen’s, who would definitely be eager for her.

Besides, Dwichen’s College was famous for its golden environment for dating. There were too many handsome boys at Dwichen’s College. If the little girl couldn’t manage herself and fell in love with one of them, he would become cuckolded, and mad.

“I’d better balance between work and leisure!” Xia Xiaoluo wanted to ask him whether she could join FLY Dance Club.

“Of course. In school you study hard and make progress. When you’re back home, I’ll do exercises with you. Buying food and cooking also can help you balance between work and leisure.” Ling Tianyi had planned well that his little girl would just spend her time on studying without having any engagement with other boys. When she was back home, he could do his favorite thing with her to help her relax.

Xia Xiaoluo felt very upset but failed to shed a tear. Finally, she didn’t dare to speak out her mind, for she knew Ling Tianyi would absolutely reject her idea of joining the dance club, so she simply decided not to drive him mad.

Xia Xiaoluo ate the expensive French Foie Gras without knowing the taste of it, and Ling Tianyi saw her depression, but did not comfort her. He had reached his purpose.

When they were back, Xia Xiaoluo was afraid that Ling Tianyi would do what he wanted to her, so she immediately held up her books and said, “Tomorrow I’ll go to school. I’d better do some preparation.”

Ling Tianyi saw through her mind and said with an evil laugh, “Just now, I’ve mentioned, at home we can do some exercises together. You just need to study hard in class tomorrow.”

“Er… Tomorrow will be the beginning of my course. I’d better do some preparation for it. Besides, there are so many books. I need to find those I need in tomorrow’s classes!” Holding the books, Xia Xiaoluo rushed to Ling Tianyi’s study room, for fear she would be dragged to the bedroom by this tireless man.
